Dear readers,
Howdy!!! I’m sitting around doing not much in eighth period – b/c it’s no fun to teach those kids:) thought I’d jot a line or two about my reading adventures from last week…
“Shooting Stars” – awesome book by LeBron James (he’s a basketball player) and Buzz something – who wrote Friday Night Lights – about LeBron’s high school basketball career – interesting so far as the things that went on and LeBron’s take – like for example, he was suspended at one point for receiving clothing – and got out of it b/c the gift was supposedly b/c he was a good student – hey, i was a good student and didn’t get $800 worth of clothing in high school… anyway, the book was enjoyable – highly recommendable if you can read books with cursing in it…
“Running in Literature” – a book about, surprise, running and stories/poems written on the subject – as always with anthologies, some of the pieces were better than others – enjoyed most the fact that three of the pieces mentioned in detail the boston marathon
“goal” – book i keep in the classroom – soccer player who overcomes adversity to do great things – i have the dvd that the book is adapted to – so now i rewatch the movie since i’ve reread the book – which i had to do before i would allow myself to watch the dvd – the book read quickly – surprised at how much came back to me about it
read my magazines – the economist, newsweek, sports illustrated – not much stands out in my memory – with the Bible, i got through Job and Exodus – i found a verse about running Job – which was cool

I am now finnaly finished with the book cell by stephen king. Whooo!!!!!!!!!!! Now after the long and perilous journey that has had the deaths of so many including alice and now a new friend, ray. They had finnaly decided to take the bus ray had said that they should go on before he had shot himself as a last request. almost right before he did he gave clay a cell phone and told him he will know when the time comes to hit the call buttion. along with it he gave a number that had a maine area code.At first clay thought it was his own number becuase he had a split second to look before ray had grabbed his gun and had killed himself. when they finnaly arrived at the place that the raggady man or as what the people who were traveling with ray also known as david and denise, who was pregnant, called the president of harvard. that is is it for know. bye. 😉 🙂 😀 🙂
Ok this will be my last blog on Bartlett and the Forest of Plenty. So……….I left off with them climbing the stairs and finding the girl playing the flute. She nods at them to tell them to follow her. She leads them down the stairs on a path through vines and leaves. They finally come to a building that was medium sized. She points to a spot at the ground and Bartlett looks at the spot and nods back at her. He tells his teammates to wait there. She runs away behind the building. All three of the explorers wait patiently for her return. What seemed like 30 minutes she finally returns, but she is not in front of them, she is at the top of the building looking down on them with another person beside her. The man beside her was the fattest person they had ever seen. He walked slowly to the ledge using all of his strength. When he finally made it to the edge he sat down. The girl pointed at them and he glared down at them like a hawk for a really long time.

this week i will be reading Romeo and Juliet to get an early start on my shakespeare project. So the beging starts out with conflict its like never ending conflict in this story. people may know the basics of shakespeare…”oh romeo oh romeo wherefore art thou romeo”…but do they really know the details of romeo being the impulsive and immature character at about 16 whom is falling in love or fair juliet whom is about 13. Like his friend dont really like him being w/ juliet they actually say some relly nasty stuff(i had to read the dumbed down version to understand wat they meant) anyways and ofcourse they are teenagers and juliet has sworn herself she wasnt going to hav certsin contact perticularly so romeos friends do not agree and they think he is talking nonsence….also their is another character…paris…like lady capulet and capulate hav agreed juliet is to marry this night and shinning armer…but really he isnt her night and shinning….thn like romeo and his friend stuck into this kind of party kind masqurade thing and he see sees romeo..o i didnt mention…before that like romeo declared his love for her in the most romantic way and as u know ive experienced many differaunt guys saying sweet things about me but this beats them all..i wish i could have a romeo…Do u kno where i can get one?? lol jkjk but he was like really moody b/c he had seen this girl and it was love at first sight…ive had love at 1st sight but it wasnt love like frm the he eye…like falling in love w/ muscle or hair..but no! romeo jus was inlove…anyways after everyone left the party juliet had seen romeo and obviousay this was the first theysay eachother and juliet asked about romeo to her best friend nurse who had raised her since she was little and…then i got a little confusted about the setting in this scene because like from my understanding romeo has found juliet and they are declaring their love for eachother in the most romantic way thought uf using words in t romantic ways its just so great! and well they kiss twice and its in the middle of speak and tht is the most romantic thing to me…omg i just noticed something…im reading this in the time b4 valentines day!! careful guys b/c this is giving me ideas…..hehe but the conflict in this story well is kind of something only the readers understand but paris(thts a girls name lol) is wanting to marry juliet but juliet is inlove w/ romeo and romeo is inlove with her..I LOVE IT
Monday’s journal.
I am reading Switchbacks. I thought about reading the other main book that Mark Twain wrote, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, but I am reading Switchbacks By Sid Marty. This book is about the Canadian Wilderness. That is in Alberta in Banff National Park (pronounced BAN-if) The author actually lives in Canada. This story is probably in his pointof view, either a biography or probably realistic fiction. I have not gotten very far in the book, but so far it just talks about certain things that hold a special memory. Pretty boring, but I am not even past the first chapter, The chapters are pretty long. As soon as I finish this book I plan to read Where The Red Fern Grows. It feels like everybody except for me has read this book so, yes.

So, this week I’ll still be blogging about Twilight (Even though I’m finished with it, it’s kind of a thing where I blog on a whole series) So here we go.
Mon.- I think I left off with Edward telling Bella about their vampire history. So after all of that, he shows her his room. It’s really cool, like all musical and stuff, but no bed. I think if I walked in a room with no bed it’d be weird to me. I guess it isn’e weird when your boyfriend is a vampire that doesn’t sleep. But, that’s weird too. Anywho, Alice comes in with Jasper and invites Bella to watch them play baseball. Since Bella couldn’t ever play anyway, even if she tried. So she goes home and everything and her dad thinks it’s funny that Bella would like to watch baseball anyway. I do too. 🙂 So, that’s Mon. night’s blogs.
Tues.- Now Edward picks Bella up to go watch them play baseball and their in Emmett’s big Jeep, cool. So Bella goes with them and it’s really cool how you can’t even see them running and stuff. Then, Alice sees these other vampires coming to the party. They continue to play until THEY show up. I mean, James, Victoria, and guys name with and L that I keep forgetting. (Is it Laurent? I think so) So they think Bella is their for a snack, they’d like that wouldn’t they? So Bella like freaks out, because, well that’s what Bella does. So now they are on a mission to save Bella because James is a tracker that is looking for her.
Wed.- So since they found out James was a tracker, Bella has to leave. She freaks out and tells her dad it’s all Edward’s fault. She throws a fit and it’s goobye Bella. So Bella goes off with Jasper and Bella I think. Or maybe it was Emmett, I always get their names confused. It was Jasper, because he can control feelings and what-not. So they stay in this hotel until Edward calls and then James calls and says he has her mother and Bella freaks out and tries to escape. Well, not try, because she does. So she goes to her dance studio and James is there all alone. Why? (She’s so stupid, why would she go alone?) That’s for me to figure out in all of this free time I have. Not!
Thurs.- So James doens’t have her mom and he’s going to kill her. Go figure. So he bites her and breaks her leg and throws her against the mirror and then Edward comes and sucks the venom from her hand. So, she goes to the hospital and Renee comes. She tells her she fell down a flight of stairs. (Would that surprise you?) So in the end, she gets all better and James gets all destoyed. *Everyone shouts for joy* Now, Alice gets her all dressed up for what Bella thinks is her turning. Yeah right. Edward takes her to prom and they dance and as always, there’s a happy ending.
Next week it will be about New Moon, and then Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. Then I will start on Fire, Gone With The Wind, and then Maze. I have a lot of books to read. Oh well, reading is good for my smallish brain, as my friends tell me. Have a great week blogging! 🙂 :O 😛 😉

The author’s purpose is to let the reader know that the executive vice president for personnel, Fred Claire, had traded shortstop Alfredo Griffen and relief pitchers Jay Howell and Jesse Orosco with the Oakland Athletics and the Mets. Later, Fred signed free agent Mike Davis, who had been a power hitter for Oakland. Fred also signed a free agent from the Detroit Tigers, Kirk Gibson, who was also long-time star athlete. As you have read, the Dodgers have traded some accurate players, but, have also recieved some strong, entergetic athletes. Now, Orel is trying to figure out if he’ll win rewards (just wondering and sying stuff out loud) like the MVP award or the National League MVP. The author’s purpose is to make sure that the reader knows that these players have been traded and The LA Dodgers have also recieved great players.

so far i have read that a few minuets before grace cahill past on to the big city in the sky she changed her will
then her lawyer (william mcintyre had brought out the aulteritive version of her will out which had her most guarded secretes for the past seven years but her lawyer was not sure about it
her lawyer looked like a grumpy old man like you on a bad day and had a pointy nose like panokio but pointer
and the lawyer was sneaking through grace cahills files and top secret stuff and learning important stuff about her
and she passed away the lawyer closed the windows and the curtains so he could do some business is the darkness the his business partner came (a guy in a black suit black as oil)
but by that i suspect them to do with the death of grace cahill

1- Dear John is awesome. Yes I have cried reading it, but oh well. Okay well after John takes her out to dinner for the first time they go to this site where she is building houses for the hurricane crew with the church. That house is almost done. They just have to put the windows on and decorate the inside of the house. This is what all the girls will be doing the next day. They sit out on the porch where the chairs are. They tell each other about their families and how they act and treat each other. Some of the bad experiences each one of them has been though. It starts to rain so they head back to the house where her church is staying for the month. He walks her in and as always for the past couple of night the girls are out on the back porch talking and the guys are in the living room watching football. He hangs around for a little while then heads to his house.
2-Instead of going over to the house the next day after they finish up John goes surfing. He spends the whole day surfing. She goes on to the pier and sees him in his backyard. She yells to come over and hang out so he does. He takes and shower first and cleans up before he goes. By the time he gets to the house she is still on the pier. So he heads out there. Before he gets to her he can tell she has been crying. He doesn’t know whether to leave her alone or to go an ask what is wrong. He goes up and of course ask do you want me to stay? Well of course she wants you to stay. How stupid can you be. She tells him she bought him a book. Not a kind of book he usually reads. She gives it to him. It is a book about special people. She thinks his dad might have some problems. He gets mad and starts yelling.
3- She was just trying to help him with his father. Trying to make him understand him better. To understand he can’t have a usual conversation like other people can. So she starts crying even more. So rushes off. He walks back to the house to get to his car and go home. Well randy comes up to him and grabs him. Well that’s not the right thing to do when someone is mad. Randy asks him did he hurt her, what did he do. John tells him to lets go of him before he brakes his wrist. She still doesn’t. Someone else comes up behind him and touches his shoulder. Jon swings his elbow and breaks Tim’s nose and hurts Randy’s wrist. Both of them are lying on the ground. Savanaha comes and tells him Tim was just trying to stop the fight. He didn’t mean to do anything. John goes and gets in his car and goes home. He lays in bed think about what he had done and if she was right about his father. Was something really wrong with him?
4- The next day he wake up and his father is cooking breakfast. All John can think about is if something is wrong with him. After his father goes to work a couple minutes later someone knocks at the door. It is Tim. He comes in and John apologizes to him for what he had done. Tim said it was okay and tells him do not be at her. She was just trying to help and it might have not been the best way to help but in her eyes she was helping him. Tim tells him that Savanaha really loves him and to go and talk to her when they get back from the site. John doesn’t know what to do. Weather to go and talk to her or to give it a little more time. They sit and talk for a while about everything you can think of. After Tim leaves John still doesn’t know whether to go and talk to her or to wait. I am in love with this book. I think everyone should read it I can’t wait till I finish it to see what happens in the end.
As i said in my last blog”i am finally done with Bartlett and the Forest of Plenty” So today I went to the library and checked out a new book called The Palace of Laughter. It looked kind of creepy and interesting so I checked it out. So……..I haven’t gotten that far in it but so far it’s pretty good. It starts out telling how a circus just rolled into town one night with no one in the town of Larde. This circus is called Circus Oscuro. You could tell it wasn’t like a normal circus withh clowns cartwheeling in and men on stilts handing out flyers, they actually came in the middle of the night with everyone in Larde asleep even the fat mayor of the town. The only person who knew or saw them arrive was a kid named Miles Wedensday who was inside an empty barrel. The empty barrel was his home. He crawled out of the barrel and watched people work together to build the large tent. Elephants picked up wooden poles and placed them in the ground, acrobatics swung back and forth laying the tarp on the poles, and stong men tied down wire to hold them together. Peace out!
Wow, I have no idea what is happening outside of my house right now. There is a hazmat team outside and a bunch of cops, and my step-dad said he saw something like a body, but idk for sure, anyways, here is what I have got to say for today.
The author’s purpose of this chapter is to explain the events that happened as a direct affect of the US trying to help the Congolese army by giving the b26ks, which will help them to put down a small insurgency force that has started to take some of the medium sized towns. It is also to entertain the military book lover, as well s providing information to them they may not have known before.
I am actually now reading a book i have already read before but it has been a very long time since i have read it. the book is called the mysterious benedict society by trenton lee stewart. the main caracter named Reynie Muldoon who live in a city named stonetown near a port called stonetown harbor. Reynie is a very gifted child who is alreadyy done with high school work and has to have a special tutor to help him study the right things. Then an add in a newspaper caMER THAT said are you a gifted child in need. and then when reynie went to take the test he was the only one in his district that passed. Then when he went to take the second test a girl named rhonda dropped her pencil n a gutter and reynie helped her by breaking his own pencil in half and giving it to her. She wanted to repay him by giving him the answers to the test but he refused and by refusing he also passed the second test as well as figuring out that it was just a big puzzle and that the answers for number one were in number 21 and for 2 it was 22 and so forth. They are finnaly at the third test after reynie meets kate and sticky, two others that had passed the test, and are now meeting a man outside the test room. that is it so far. Bye 😉 🙂 😀 🙂

So far what i have read:
The Prologue starts of with the ultimate question, “What does it mean to truly love another?” John Tyree watches as he relives every memory, emotion, and touch while falling in love with Savannah Curtis.
PART 1 John as a little kid struggled with finding the balance between himself and his father. While on leave from the Army, he meets Savannah. She goes to UNC Chapel Hill in North Carolina and is in Wilmington, NC to work for Habitat for Humanity. They become quick friends after John dives into deep ocean water in order to retrieve her purse. At a bonfire, with wild college students, John meets Savannah’s friend Tim. John quickly learns of how inviting and mature Savannah and Tim really are. After the initial meet, John and Savannah meet again at the beach where he teaches her to surf. They then quickly become more than friends. At the end of John’s leave, Savannah meets with him at the pier. She mentions that she thinks John’s distant father has Asperger’s. Asperger is a developmental disorder which would explain why John’s dad is distant, has the same exact schedule and conversation everyday, and is fairly only interested in his gigantic coin collection. After having this conversation, John quickly gets mad and accidentally hits Tim right in the nose, breaking it himself. Savannah and Tim forgive John for what he did. Before he departs, he promises Savannah he’ll marry her when he completes his deployment.

Sorry i know this isnt really one of our categories but im in a rush,so Mr. Mayfield. 🙂
PART 2 John comes home on leave and him and Savannah spend a very close night together while at one of the empty project houses for Habit for Humanity. Savannah writes him a letter, beginning with Dear John, that promises her love to him. John is very excited to come home to Savannah; however, due to 9/11, John feels the duty to reenlist in the Army. After years away from each other, Savannah writes John another letter. It starts with Dear John and ends with good-bye.
That is all i read for part 2. I think that the authors is trying to confuse the readers because first he gives the impression that the two characters dont really like each other other than friends. Then he makes them fall in love, and now he has them broken apart. So the book is kind of a roller coaster ride it has its ups and downs. This book is pretty good it takes awhile to get into the book because the beginning isnt that interesting and it goes slow. So right now im not really sure what the authors purpose is i thought i did but now that i have read some more im not quite sure.

So, my journal for Tuesday. I am still reading Switchback. I’m only on Chapter 3. Right now they are patrolling the Eastern part of the park when they come across bears and sheep. The author’s purpose I think for this book is to sort of inform but at the same time tell a realistic fiction story. The reasons why are because the Canadian Wilderness is really like that and game wardens at that time really lived like that. The reason I think that the book is also realistic fiction is because I doubt all of those events really happened and that he did not experience the events in the story. That is all I have read tonight.

so far i have read that dan cahill has the most annoying sister since she burned 2,000,000 dollars (SHE IS REALLY STUPID!) but it started when their grandmother died and they went to her funeral secretly so when every one left he could make a rubbing on her tomb stone
he does that because he collected stuff like baseball cards, rare coins, civil war weapons, his casts (the thing that the doctor puts on you when you break a bone or some thing else), and rubbings which is rubbing charcoal on a tomb stone
and he thinks that she does not care because that she is dead and she is cool and stuff.

im still reading harry potter and the goblet of fire the game of quitich has just started and ireland is up 30-0 and bulgaria keeps getting fouls called for hitting the bludger at the seeker but in the very end od the match bulgarian seeker krum catches the snitch but ireland ended up winning and there seeker had ran into the ground 2 times that game after the game they went to bed and got woke up by Mr. Weasly who said it was a emergancy that some wizards with masks have captured a muggle familly and have made them float in mid air above them they where knocking over tents and destroying muggles and mudbloods so harry, hermine, and the weaslys ran for cover in the woods. that is all i read tonight see you tomorrow at school Dr. Roy!!!

In the exciting tale of the mysterious benidect society they have just gone to the learning instutute of the very enlightened( which very soon reynie soon found out that everything was backwards there as sonn as they said there are no rules but gave him a set of rules to follow by and once he figured that out he also found the school initials and modo LIVE, then thought since everything is backwards EVIL). They just sent there first message to mr. benidect in morse code by flashlight to acroos the harbor to where he was waiting. He replied that what he saw in the looking glass was the face of a gemini , which the children soon discovered that he ment he sw this man today and had no idea about him so that is when reynie asked sticky what was thew sign of the gemini which was the sign of the twin. Apparently mr. benidect had a long lost brother named mr. curtian. This is very bad news when they find out that they are up against mr.benidects brotyher one because they and especially reynie is qiuite fond of mr. benidect and two that since mr. beenidect is a genius that might mean that mr. c is one as well. reynie soon becomes one of mr. c’s favorites because of his perfect scoring on hiss quizes and also that he is becomeing a leader even though he may not rialize it yet and also because reynie reminded him of himself as a child. once he became aqunted with him he gave him book marks to follow him on the dog eared pages. Also the reason for that was so that sticky who with a spyglass on the hill above them could see what the pages were and write down what he saw. After a couple of nights thay got a messege which reynie solved first it said that they had to be something they are not… they all had the love of truth so that could only mean one thing… they had to learn to cheat. soon sticky got caught though and was sent to the waiting room, a place that was the most frieghtning in gthe entire school. When sticky comes back he is silent and is coverewd in black mud which smelled so foul that it took nearly everything reynie had not to gag on the smell. After sticky had a shower the girls meet and questioned him about it and he finnaly said it smelle dof death and he felt like death and things crawling in the mud along with you. that is when jackson took the time and called lights out and when reyniew gave kate a look she said that she had turned her light off before she came through the air vent with constance… but just a little tro loudly

i finished Dear John, on sunday. I cried really hard! That book is amazing! Now I am reading the Last Song.
Veronica “Ronnie” Miller won’t be eighteen until the end of the summer, so she has to follow her mom’s rules and is off with her younger brother, Jonah, to spend the summer with her dad in a North Carolina beach town. Ronnie hasn’t talked to her dad in over three years. He left New York City and their family and moved back to his hometown. Ronnie is rebellious and having been arrested for shoplifting back home, a quiet summer in North Carolina might be the best thing for her. At least that’s what her mother thinks. Ronnie arrives with the intention of ignoring her dad. On her first night there she wanders the beach and meets a girl, Blaze, who seems okay. But Blaze is addicted to Marcus, and Marcus is bad news. And Marcus is interested in Ronnie. Ronnie can tell Marcus is trouble and tries to avoid him. But the triangle will ultimately create problems.Nicholas Sparks books are always love stories as it turns out,but in the last song it demonstartes love on many levels–first love, love between parents and children,and teenage love. Dear Ronnie,I just wanted to let you know that I am glad that you came down here to see me this summer, I know that you don’t want to be hear and that you despise me for leaving you,your mother, and brother but that is what I am trying to fix, I want us to be as close as we were. No I’m not going to force you to play the piano I just thought that you might enjoy doing that,you were amazing at it, i hope you realize it too. I just want us to become closer this summer. On with The Palace of Laughter. We left off with the circus rolling into the town of Larde in the middle of the night. Miles Wedensday is living on the side of the hill inside a barrel that is on its side. Inside the barrel is a beaten up mattress with an overcoat as a blanket, a biscuit tin with little food, and a candle with its head burned off. Also Miles has a bear named tangerine whos stuffing was almost completely out of it and it is beaten with a crooked smile. Miles is in that barrel because he escaped from his orphanage for the third time. He turns his candle out and tries falling asleep under the oak tree without being annoyed by the rising of the carnival tent. After a while he falls asleep with the overcoat over him. There is external conflict in what i just read because Kirk Gibson is a really big star from the Detroit Tigers, now on the LA Dodgers after being traded. Anyways, one day during spring training, someone smeared eye black in Kirk’s hat, causing his hair to be black and he got furious! Almost everyone thought that he overreacted. That’s the bad part. After the prank, almost the whole team realized that Kirk Gibson was not there to joke around, that he was there to win and take everything serious- he wasn’t playing any jokes! The good part is that later i guess he forgived the team and whoever it was and later, he became a team leader and stood up for the team.

A summary of what i just read is that the Dodgers actually started their season off really great. To start their first game, Steve Sax hit a homer over the fence, even on the first pitch. Hahaha! The first pitch of their first game, of their season. Hahaha! That’s pretty neat. The Dodgers lost 5-1 against the Giants their first game, even with one of their best pitchers on the mound, Fernando Valenzuela, nickname: Freddie. Freddie always makes people smile by acting like he doesnt know English very well. He communicates to other people by body language. Thanks to Freddie, the Dodgers at least scored one point, making the score not look THAT bad.

-The Dodgers got their revenge back on the Giants and one their next five games after their terrible shutdown their first game- with Orel Hershiser starting off pitching. The last thing that i am going to say is that Orel won the National League Pitcher of the month award in April. BYE! GOOD NIGHT!
Monday- Authors purpose-The authors purpose of hatching magic is to entertain with a fantasy type book. It includes griffons, dragons, wizards, and out of the random blue, chocolate?!?! The author uses a switch chapter version, from the wizard to a young girl. I think the author has an odd way of writing his book.

Wed- Comparison- This is similar to a classical and common book, Lord of the Rings. Hatching magic is a fantasy and adventure story. It starts out as a simple life and ends in a peaceful story. Lord of the Rings includes many of the creatures that hatching magic does. It is a really great book, and goes well with most any fantasy comparison.
Thurs- I end with a POV- I am the wizard Blagen, I have one pet griffon and many other magical creatures I am an oracle when it comes to magic. The king hates the fact I live in a cellar, but i prefer it. I hope my griffon returns by sundown.

i am now off of thew book the mysterious benedict society and i am now on the second book of the seies called the mysterious benedict society and the perilous journey. So far in the last book constance was pulled out of the suitcase saying look at me constance so small you could pack me in a suitcase. then that is when things get interesting the boys are woken in the night to mr. curtian for there special privelages. that is when they are blindfolded and taken to wispering galley and are put in the wisperer to broadcast the messages. then when the time comes the benedict society come up with a plan and they get a message saying that laughfter is the best medicine. when at the end that the body gaurd millagin realizes that he had to get to the kids his memory came flooding back to him which he realized that kate was actually hi daughter. the reason he thought his name was milligan was because that was the last thing kate had said to him before he had been kidnapped. it was actually can we got to the mill again, hence milligan. then when reynie has to stand up to mr. curtian with constance and sticky afraid of him. he thinks about the message and says out loud that it isnt laughter and when he gets mr. curtian in a rage he suddenly drops to the ground snoring. with mr. benedict it is usually laughter that triggers it but with his twin it is rage. now that he is pluged up reynie tries to face him as he is in the wisperer but after reynie tries to face him and almost fails and has them all brainswept constance takes his place andx yells there names and being as stuborn as she is the wiperer and also mr.curtian could not take it. that is when mr. benedict arrived and took his twins plave and now that constance had confused it the wisperer replied to him like it would mr. c because their brains were so alike. Now in the second mysterious benedict society reynie is alone walking on a dirt road twords kates house becausae there car had broke down and they had to stay in a motel for the night. when he finnaly got to there farm kate was gagging on something and said oh shoot and turned and saw reynie and he said i dont know what that was but i am sure it is funny. kate ran to him and he threw hims arms out… and got more or less got the wind knocked out if him by kates tackle/ hug. he smiled and said its good top see you again too. that is all so far so untill next week. I have been reading Number the stars. It is very interesting book. A summary of what I read is that at her uncles house. They are getting everybody on the boats and Ann Marie and Cirtsti are the only ones left in the house. when Ann Marie wakes up in the morning she is worried because her mothr had not returned to the house. She walks over to the window and she looks outside. she sees a blurry object in the path and she wipes her eyes. She looks again and notices that it is her mother laying in the middle of the path.

I think the author’s purpose is to entertain and to inform because the book tells you about what it was like in world war 2. So its realistic fiction. The book tells facts, yet it is very interesting at the same time. I like books that are not all facts, but I don,t like that many books without facts.

I think the book relates to change because Ann Marie changes throughout the book. Her friend Elen also has to change her jewish act and start to act like normal people, otherwise the nazis will kill her. Thats way she is hiding at Ann Maries house.

This book is like another book I read, called life on the plains. They are alike because they are both based in the 1940s and both of them are about war. One is about a boy and one is about a girl. both books are really good. bye
Still reading The Palace of Laughter and it is getting better and better as I progress throught it. as I said yesterday the circus rolls into Larde and Miles Wedensday is the only person who knows this happened because he lives in a tipped over barrel on the side of a hill under aan oak tree where the circus is being held. He lives inside sleeping on a beaten up mattres with a messed up teddy bear named Tangerine. When Miles finally falls asleep through all the commotion of the circus being built he wakes up to find a striped bengal tiger 20 paces outside of his barrel. He is so shocked to see this that he doesn’t even realize that it is a tiger. When he finally wakes up he makes a tiny scream and the tiger turns his head and sees the boy stick his head out then take it back in. The tiger starts talking to the boy saying how most people would run away when they see him. When Miles finally gets the guts to talk back he starts running his mouth on how he should go ahead and eat him. Than the tiger somehow gets into a story on how he ate a health inspector whole once and how he had a stomach ache for a while.

Even though he has cancer and is more then likely right now gonna die I still love how hes handling it. So last I left off last week Nathan and family left Alanta to go down to his home town. They arrived down there Saturday and when Grand Vestal (Nathans Grandmomma) told them they had to go to chuch the next day the first comment out of everyones mouth t the same time. We didn’t bring any church clothes, Grand Vestal Lord love her, said “God don’t care what you show up in as long as you show up.” I was Like Tell ’em guhh! Well Needs to say they ended up going the next morning. But when they got home… There was a surprise waiting for Nathan when he arrived at Grand Vestals house. His father was there. Most people would be like ohh my dad heyy but Nathan and his dads relationship is a little diffrent. They haven’t seen eachother sinces Nathans mother died over 5years ago. Then all of a sudden he just shows up out of no where, after 5 years of no comunication.. Thats messed upp! I know one thing I would not except him back in my life just like that he would have to prove he is really staying in my life. But I guess if you have cancer and your not sure when you’ll fall asleep and never wake up. I guess you would want to, but I just think it would be hard. I haven’t mention his mother died of cancer to. WellI stopped reading after they pulled up to Grand Vestals house and saw his father standing on the porch so I’ll read on and finish and inform y’all

#2 There are many “different” characters in this book. For instance Captain “Father” Lunsford, who infiltrated the People’s Army led by Lt. Gen. Olenga, he is a very strong minded and goal oriented man. Everything he does that does not give him info on the People’s Army he considers against his job. Also, there is Geoffry Craig, a very cool and laid back person until his wife and only son are trapped in the middle of an enemy controlled city. Once he learns this info he freaks out of his mind. There is also Major ” Pappy” Hodges, who is an old man who can handle himself in any conflict, and takes charge easily. He is a natural leader who can make any man listen to him when he wants.
#3 Facts: Hanni Portet (por-tay), Ursula Craig, and Mrs. Hodges are trapped in a Stanleyville apartment which is surrounded by troops who call themselves Simbas because they feel like they are the kings. Luckily, all 3 speak German and have European passports, and the Simbas only want to kill Americans. Also there is a young lieutenant who goes out into the streets to find the ANC who they believe is still in control, but he only finds the Simbas and decides to go out John Wayne style by taking out as many as possible. Also, Micheal Hoare( Oar) was hired by the American Government to find and secure all US citizens, then bring them back to a friendly area. Opinions: Wow, the US did what they said they were not going to do with Micheal Hoare. I cannot believe them. The 3 women are lucky as all get out that they are able to do what they can. As far as the Lieutenant goes, he is very crazy man who will feel as if he just wasted all his time and effort only to find that the remaining Americans were rescued, and he just got himself killed.I feel sorry for him, for he did not no what was coming.

It’s me!!! I’m finishing up with the book “Perfect”. It is really good. Stormie is the one that told me to read it. I was really slow. At first, I was like “this is a dumb book” because it only talks about her life, but then towards the end it gets really good so yea. Anyways, I am at the part where they go over to Ashley Barnum’s house to spend the night. All they really do is they talk about group and since they are bulimic they decide since they hungary they are going to eat all they can find in the kitchen and then throw it up afterwards so the don’t get fat even though they are not fat. 🙂
Tuesday:
After they spend the night at Ashley Barnum’s house, one of the most popular people in the whole school, Isabelle goes to school and Ashley Barnum and her friends ask them to sit with them at lunch, because they actually get to pick where they sit :(, and Isabelle thinks she is popular. So she starts to leave all her other friends for Ashley Barnum and she doesn’t even talk to them or hang out with them anymore. 😛
Wednesday:
Now after she gets to go to Ashley Barnum’s house and gets to sit with Ashley Barnum and her friends, she goes to group and she has to start going to private group with Trish, the counselor or group teacher, because she doesn’t really talk about her bulimic problem she just goes because that was “the deal”. When she goes she starts talking about her dad, which I think is why she throws up because she is really upset. 😀
Thursday:
After being to group a few times Ashley Barnum comes to her house this time to spend the night. Ashley starts to talk about what is all going on at her house. For instance, her mom and dad are getting a divorce because her dad was cheating on her mom, her brothers are always out partying, and no one is ever at home, especially now because her mom is at a spa. So they go into the kitchen and they eat and Ashley starts to throw up and she asks Isabelle if she was going to and Isabelle said no for the first time and she was proud of herself and never did it again. After that the next day they put up all the pictures of her dad back up on the walls and this time her mom didn’t even cry. They were all so proud. And that is the end of the book. It is a very good book. 😉
Hi. it’s peek. i’m reading catchingfire and this buk has one huge metaphor that i must explain. okay, when she calls president snow a snake. that is a good comparison because like most snakes he is evil and will do everything in his power-which is a lot of power- to make something’s life miserable. snakes want to make their prey miserable and president sonw wants to make katniss’s life really badish, dude. that’s it for me over and peaceout.

Wednesday- I think that the book Switchbacks compares well to Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. The reason that I think this is because in Hatchet Brian has to live off the wilderness and this is sort of what it is like in Switchbacks. The people in Switchbacks have some supplies, but they are still on mountains and have to sleep in tents and sometimes in the open. Brian on the other hand sleeps out in the open on his first night but in a cave the rest of the nights. This is my blog for Wednesday.
Thursday: Right now in Switchbacks they are climbing a mountain. It is a flashback (literary element) though, by the way so far this book has been mainly flashbacks, so that is what I think this whole book is going to be about. They are climbing Mount Victoria right in between Alberta and British Columbia, both in Canada. When you sleep in the cabin you can wake up to see beautiful Lake Louise. The Continental Divide divides British Columbia and Alberta apparently in this story, but I doubt it since it is just a story. That is all I have read tonight.

Since I was sick Monday and Tuesday, sorry if this week’s blog isn’t very long. I didn’t get to read very much. This much I did read…I’m going to start off where Skulduggery and Vengeous are done fighting. Vengeous kicked Skulduggery’s patooty and Baron kidnapped Valkyrie; with the Grotesquery. Baron goes to a church that has been worn down and torn down and lays the Grotesquery on a slab of rock at the front. Dusk and the Infected(the people that Dusk has bitten)…Yes, Dusk is a vampire. It irritates me too that in almost every book, there’s a vampire. It wouldn’t surprise me if The Victors(3rd book of The Hunger Games) has a vampire in it. Ugh. Anyway, Dusk and the Infected bring in Valkyrie shackled up. The Vengeous tells Val that the Grotesquery needs her blood because she is a descendant of the Ancients(the first good guys that had all of these powers). Just then, Skulduggery busts in with a bomb and lays it at Baron’s feet. He gets Baron to give him Val so he won’t blow the bomb. As Skull and Val are walking out, she asks,”That a real bomb?”. Skull is still walking away with his thumb on the button, and says,”No, that’s a car jack in a bag, and this is my garage door opener. Don’t tell them.” Which I don’t know why Valkyrie would tell them that wasn’t a real bomb. They get outside, and Skulduggery tells Val to get under aron’s van and hide until they load the Grotesqueryin it and then she needs to slip into the van and drive off. Skull gets in the Bentley and goes away. Away is right down the road at a checkpoint that Val needs to drive to. His plan works perfectly. They load the monster into the van and Val slips away. The only problem is that she doesn’t know how to turn on the headlights. When she finally gets them on, she has managed to drive off the road, down a hill, and onto another road. She gets out and falls down right there. Skull and Tanith are there to help her up and they drive away. Too short???

*Fact- in the end John and Savannah end up breaking up and not being together,which is what everyone suspected
*Opinion-I think that whenever he was sent out for 9/11 they sort of lost touch with each other. I also think that the separation took its tole on the both of them and that why they ended up breaking up.
*Fact-Tim,Savannah’s husband later on in the book, on his death bed with deadly melanoma tells John once he has died to marry Savannah and make her happy. John uses the money from selling his dad’s coin collection to save Tim’s life and treat his melanoma. Savannah stays with Tim, but one night John decides to go back to Savannah but doesn’t have the courage after all. He waits outside trying to get the courage to go in, and sees Savannah come out to look at the moon.
*Opinion-I think he knew what he was doing when he sold his dad’s collection because he knew how much Tim meant to Savannah and that she would be devastated i anything ever happened to him. I think he did what he though was right and that he just wanted to see Savannah happy. I also think that he went back to see if he had succeeded in making Savannah happy,when we,the readers know, that they are meant to be together,John and Savannah

-I MISPLACED my book and can’t find it, so i am going to blog about the 15 minutes i have been reading during lunch study. I think i left my book in my locker!!!
-The book i am reading relates to another book i ave read before, The Game of my Life Alabama because both books are about sports(duh). In Orel Hershiser, there is a lot of stats and records shown to give the reader more information and to let the reader know what the stats and records are. In The Game of My Life Alabama, there is also stats and records. In both books, there is also information on the main team’s rivalry scores, just to make sure to let the reader know if they would like to know. Also, in both books, there’s Christianity. Both books tell how hard the team works and practices, and tells how they diserve to win those games. Both of these books are really great, and i suggest anyone who reads my blogs, to read them.

robert is now a major and is training soldiers who, unlike the chinese, would rther drive 9999999 miles than walk 5 miles (chinese standars are 40 miles with 100-120 lb. loads).hes now married, and, since his wife is an early sleeper, studied war from Sun Tzu to S.L.A. Marshall. he studied anything that had the word war in it, even if it was a Hello Kitty book. He wrote 2 other books on rangers in WWII and Korea. He also thought many other majors were idiots, that would sell their mother to enhance or protect their careers.

Right now he is remembering the cold war in which could have returned war to german soil if there was not a chance of a nuclear holocaust. I think that he was correct in that thought if it was not for the fact that the main force leader (Adolph Hitler) was 6 feet under, pushing up daisies, ect, ect, ect.

I’ve read quite a lot. a few small things, nothing major.
the gospel according to larry-about a guy who starts a website that talks about what all is wrong about our society and what we can do to help. his best friend (who he is in love with) starts watching and reading his work, not knowing that it’s him (of course, no one does, so go figure) and it talks about his misadventures as the alter ego of larry
the green glass sea-this is about a camp-thingy of scientists and their families while they’re working during world war 2. mostly about two girls who dont get along at first but learn to cooperate and invent stuff together
the hunger games – i only read a chapter of this. from what i can tell, the older sister is about to go to a thing where they call names and the people chosen have to fight to the death.
