Students took notes on how to change regular numbers to scientific notation and vice versa. After completing, the notes they completed the Scientific Notation WS (40 pts). They also received a grade for having their scientific notation calculators (10 pt)

After discussing the concept of density and writing the notes on Density from the Data Analysis PowerPoint, students completed the Density WPWS (50 pt) in class or for homework. We worked 2 sample problems and the students then completed the WS for homework. They received a Bronze grade (10 pt) for having their calculators in class today.

English Conversions

Students took the English Conversions Test (100 pt) in class.

Students continued taking notes and discussion on the base units of SI from the prefixes of the base units in SI, their symbols, the numbers that they stand for; and what derived units are. They were reminded to learn the SI prefixes from tera - pico for a possible test. Once again, they were reminded to have their SCIENTIFIC CALCULATORS each day. They received a bronze grade (10 pt) for having their calculators today.

Students finished the English Conversions WS (45 pt) in class w/the teacher checking in class. Students will have the English Conversions Test tomorrow. They received a Bronze Grade (10 pt) for having their calculator in class.

English Conversions
Students began the English Conversions WS (45 pt) after working a practice problem from Friday. Students should be able to convert from one unit to another in the English System of Measurement. They will have a test on English Conversions on Wednesday.

After discussing the facts and features of the Lab, we began the powerpoint and discussions of Data Analysis. Students were reminded to have their calculators for class.
English Conversions
Students continued learning how to convert in the English system of measurement. The use of conversion factors to convert in volume, distance and weight were demonstrated and practiced. Multiple conversions were used to practice. Monday will feature individual work on English Conversions.
Lab – Intro to Chemistry
Students used the Scientific Method to conduct a lab using observation skills. They filled out the data sheet (50 pt) for a grade. They used milk, food coloring and various lab tools to show proper lab techniques.
