Students learned the steps to writing English Conversion Factors. We then, worked several conversion factors before getting the English Conversion Factor WS (34 pt) for homework. They were reminded to have a calculator for class tomorrow.
Introduction to Chemistry / Data Analysis
Students took the Introduction to Chemistry Chapter Test (100 pt) and began the Data Analysis Voc. (60 pt) which they finished for homework. They were reminded of the lab for Wednesday.
Calculator Use/Scientific Notation/English Conversions
Students took the Math Review Test (24 pt), showing how to use a calculator and rounding off, then the Scientific Notation Test (20 pt). We concluded class by going over how to write English Conversion factors and how they are used.
Introduction to Chemistry
Students were allowed to finish the Introduction to Chemistry Chapter Assessment (63 pt). They will have the Introduction to Chemistry Chapter Test on Tomorrow. They were reminded that they will have Lab on Wednesday.
Scientific Notation/English Conversions
Students were given their Scientific Notation WS's back and allowed to answer questions on the missed problems. They were also given their Math Review Poptest back that they completed in class on Friday to learn how to turn decimals into fractions and rounding to the correct number of digits. They received a Bronze grade (10 pt) for having their calculators again. They were reminded to have their calculators each day. After completing the Math Review WS 2/3 (34 pt), they began taking notes on learning how to write English Conversion Factors. They will have the Scientific Notation Test and Math Review Test on tomorrow.
Introduction to Chemistry
Chemistry classes finished the PPT, "Introduction to Chemistry" by discussing the uses of Chemistry in technology and how they've changed our lives. Then, we took the Introduction to Chemistry Vocabulary Test. They turned in their Introduction to Chemistry Crossword Puzzle (40 pt) which they had for homework.
Math Review
Students reviewed how to turn fractions into decimals and how to round numbers to two natural numbers to the right of the decimal. They were allowed to use calculators to help in performing division and multiplication calculatoins.
Scientific Notation
Students answered the "Writing numbers in Scientific Notation" WS (50 pt) in class. We learned how to take numbers from scientific notation and turn them into regular numbers also. They will have the Scientific Notation Test on Friday.
Introduction to Chemistry
Students continued notes from the PPT on "Introduction to Chemistry" concerning the scientific method, it's steps, the types of variables and how to identify them, the 2 groups and 2 types of data. We also discussed the advancements in technology that have used Chemistry. They were assigned the "Introduction to Chemistry" Crossword Puzzle (40 pt) for homework and in preparation for their Vocabulary Test on the chapter tomorrow.
Introduction to Chemistry
After learning the 5 major branches of Chemistry, we reviewed the 7 steps to the Scientific Methods and their components. Again, the Introduction to Chemistry Voc. Test will be on Friday.
