Students took the Lab Safety Quiz (50 pt) and were briefed on the PPT/WS on Lab Equipment. Students were able to use the Chromebooks to begin the Lab Equipment WS (100 pt).

8-12-19 (Monday)
Students learned the Rules and Procedures of Class from where to be BEFORE bell rings to where there papers are turned in. Discipline procedures and expectations for the school year were discussed. Classroom Rules Test will be tomorrow (Gold grade)
8-13-19 (Tuesday)
Students took the Classroom Rules Test (20 pt) and began to take notes on the parts of a textbook and how to use the parts of a textbook.
8-14-19 (Wednesday)
We continued learning the 3 major parts of textbook and how to use them. We then, were introduced to the textbook in Physical Science and used them to find the 3 major parts of the book.
8-15-19 (Thursday)
Students were given the "Using Your Text" WS (60 pt) and allowed to complete it in class. They were given the website, login information and password to use the online textbook, Foundations of Physical Science. Students also began the WS on Lab Safety using the Chemistry text under their desks. They were also given the Lab Contract (10 pt) to get signed to allow them to go into lab.
8-16-19 (Friday)
Students were allowed to finish the "Using Your Textbook" WS and began to read the textbook information on "Lab Safety". Students used the Chemistry textbook to answer the "Lab Safety" RQ (40 pt) and turned in.
8-19-19
We finished taking notes on "Lab Safety" from the PPT. Students then entered the lab to complete the Lab Safety Tour WS (50 pt). They were allowed to complete the drawings for lab safety symbols at home from the WS using their online text. They will have a Lab Safety Quiz (50 pt) tomorrow. Study!!!

Thursday, May16, 2019 Students finished "The Mole" Chapter Test using their books and their notes. Then, they continued working on the 3rd Qtr Review. They began answering the questions from the 3rd Qtr Review Guide. They were reminded of the day of their tests and what to bring. Friday, May 17, 2019 Students continued working on the 4th Qtr Review Guides. They were reminded of the dates for their 2nd Semester Exams and the items that they needed.

Thursday, May16, 2019 Students continued working on the 3rd Qtr Review. They began by working on the 3rd Qtr Crossword Puzzle Review (40 pt). After finishing the CWP, they began answering the questions from the 3rd Qtr Review Guide. They were reminded of the day of their tests and what to bring.
Friday, May 17, 2019 Students continued working on the 4th Qtr Review Guides. They completed the 4th Qtr Review Crossword Puzzle (56 pt) before working on the 4th Qtr Review Guide. They were reminded of the dates for their 2nd Semester Exams and the items that they needed.
The Mole
Students took the "Mole" chapter test by using their textbooks. We answered one small question on empirical formulas and they began the open book Chapter Test. Upon finishing, they got the 3rd Qtr Review Guide for their 2nd Semester Exam if they had not picked it up yet.
Radioactivity / 3rd Qtr Review
Students saw the last minutes of "The Day After". They were allowed to answer the last question from the movie on their Questions. Then, they received the Crossword Puzzle (50 pts)which reviews the 3rd Qtr concepts and their 3rd Qtr Review Guide for their 2nd Semester Exam.
The Mole
Students learned how to write empirical formulas from information on compounds. They then began and completed the Empirical Formulas WS (30 pt)
Radioactivity
Students finished looking at "The Day After" to observe the effects of radioactivity on human life. Students then wrote a brief summary and description of the characters in the movie. Once again, they were offered the 3rd Qtr Review Guide.
The Mole
Students continued taking notes on The Mole and how to convert mass or particles to Moles and vice versa. Then, we learned the concept of Percent by Mass of the elements in a compound. After the discussion, students completed the Percent Composition of elements in a compound by mass.
