Students copied notes from the PowerPoint on Work & Machines after discussing IMA and AMA. Then, we explained and calculated efficiency of machines on the Efficiency word problem WS (21 pt). Students will then have the Work & Machines Practice Word Problem Test on tomorrow and Word Problem Test on Wednesday.
Chemical Reactions
After completing 2 days of learning how to write chemical equations from word equations AND balancing equations students were allowed to show their expertise on 3 balancing equations worksheets in class.
Work & Machines
Students learned how machines work and why they are used after viewing the PowerPoint and taking notes. Then, they learned the Physics term for learning how machines help us (MA). After learning what MA is, they learned how to calculate the mechanical advantage of a machine and completed the MA word problem WS (18 pt). They were reminded of the combined Work & Machines Word Problem Test next week.
Chemical Reactions
Today, we continued correcting mistakes taken as students wrote the chemical reactions problems and balancing equations. We continued using the textbook and completed another Balancing Equations WS (30 pts).
Work & Machines
Students began a new chapter as we discussed and calculated Work & Power. We completed the Work Word Problem WS (20 pt) in class and began the Power Word Problem WS (20 pt) which was due today. They were advised of the combined word problem test on work, power, mechanical advantage and efficiency on Tuesday.
Chemical Reactions
Students and teacher reviewed and corrected the mistakes from the chemical reactions assignment on yesterday and completed new work from the textbook.
Work & Machines
Students completed the Work & Machines Review Questions (60 pts) in class.
Chemical Reactions
Students turned in the Google Classroom Assignment (20 pt) and then began practicing balancing equations. We completed the Identify & Balancing Equations WS (36 pt) and completed the Balancing Equations WS (30 pt) for homework.
Energy/Work & Machines
The teacher went over the answers to the Energy Chapter Review (50 pt) at the beginning of class. Then, students began the Energy Chapter Test (100 pt). They began and finished the Work & Machines Vocabulary (56 pts) for homework.
Chemical Reactions
Students first completed the types of chemical reactions notes covering the double replacement reactions. Then, we observed the podcast on balancing chemical equations. After balancing chemical equations in practice, we took a short test on Types of Chemical Reactions WS (22 pts). Then, we completed the Identifying and Balancing Chemical Reactions WS (36 pts).
