We concluded the notes from the PowerPoint on Chemical Reactions. Students received a "Balancing Chemical Equations" - 30 pts. They also received a Chemical Reactions Crossword Puzzle (30 pts) to help prepare for the Chemical Reactions Voc. Test on tomorrow. They will have the Chemical Reactions Chapter Test on Thursday, not Friday. Students were encouraged to complete their makeup tests by Friday of this week.
Ionic Compounds
We continued taking notes on the characteristics of Ionic Compounds, their properties and how stable octets review the ability to form ionic compounds. The PowerPoint was used to illustrate the electron configuration notations and forming ionic bonds. Students were also advised to get the work made up for missing tests by Friday during their GPS periods.
Chemical Reactions
Students were able to view the podcast on "Balancing Equations" and take notes. We then worked 5 practice problems on the board. Students then turned in their notes and practice problems (Bronze) - 15 pts. Students then began work on the "Identifying and Balancing Chemical Equations" WS -48 pts. They were warned to observe the board to notice the dates of the Vocabulary Test and Chapter Test. They were also advised of the last day to makeup tests.

Students completed the Ionic Compounds Review Questions (60 pts) in class.
Chemical Reactions
Students completed Aim 16 (Replacement Reactions) from a workbook that explained Single and Double Replacement Reactions (45 pts). Then we observed a podcast on Counting Atoms. We also turned in a summary of the podcast for a Bronze grade.
ACT
All Juniors will be taking the ACT test today. Non-junior students were given an E-Day assignment in class yesterday. They were to complete a Black History Quiz using the internet. It allows us to learn some African Americans who helped contribute to the development of the United States of America in science and life. The Black History Quiz (50 pts) is due on Thursday. The Quiz is also on the Google Classroom.

ACT Test Preparations
Students took an ACT Prep as if they were taking the exam. All Credentials and procedures were following using a link on their Google classroom account.
