Today, we continued the notes in the PowerPoint on Chemical Reactions. After reviewing the basic concepts of Chemical Reactions from yesterday notes and discussion, we went over the 5 types of chemical reactions. They completed the Types of Chemical Reactions WS (22 pts) for homework/schoolwork.
ACT Prep.
Students were able to conclude the ACT Practice Test, 18-19 (50 pts) and go back to check their answers on the answer sheet using the website where the test was taken from. We will have an actual ACT Science Test rehearsal tomorrow, in terms of time and answer sheet, etc.
Chemical Reactions
Students learned what a chemical reaction is and where it occurs. Also, the process of chemical nomenclature and who is responsible for the chemical nomenclature were revealed. The use of chemical equations and major types were discussed. We concluded class w/the comparison of subscripts and coefficients and how coefficients are used to balance chemical equations.
ACT Preparations
Students took the actual ACT practice test (18-19) from a computer link from their Google Classroom accounts. (50 pts)
Chemical Reactions
Students completed the Chemical Change Review Questions (60 pts) in class using the textbooks under their desks.
ACT Preparations
Students in the Chemistry classes began ACT preparations by reviewing the tips on ACT preparations and took the 1st Practice Test in Google Classroom on Chromebooks. (Silver Grade - 50 pts)
Chemical Reactions
Students began and completed the Chemical Reactions Vocabulary (48 pts) in class today.
Elements
Students took the Elements Chapter Test (100 pts) and began the Ionic Compounds Chapter Voc. (66 pts). They will be reviewing for the ACT Test next week.
Chemical Bonding/Chemical Reactions
Students went over the Chemical Bonding Ch. Review, were urged to review their polyatomic ions, due to the bad grades on the prior test, and then took the Chemical Bonds Test (100 pts). They began the Chemical Reactions Voc. (48 pts) after the test.
Elements
Students completed the Elements Study Guide (100 pts), Elements Crossword Puzzle (40 pt) and took the Elements Voc. Test (40 pts). They will have the Elements Chapter Test on tomorrow.
