Students continued w/the measurements in the SI Lab (100 pts). We will finish the lab tomorrow.
Density Lab
Students were introduced and reviewed the objectives and procedures for the Density Lab. We then went into the lab practicing Lab Safety procedures and began measuring volume, mass, of a screw, washer and nut. The ability to calculate the volume of the objects by displacement and measure the mass using a triple beam balance were reviewed and displayed. We will calculate % error on the mass and write all answers using the correct number of significant digits.. All data was recorded on the data sheet and turned in at the conclusion of class. We will continue the lab tomorrow, so dress appropriately.

Matter
Students were allowed to complete the Matter; Properties & Change Vocabulary (76 pts) and begin the same chapters Review Questions (60 pts). They were also reminded to dress correctly for the Density Lab on tomorrow. Lastly, they were reminded to store the notes and material from the 1st 9 Weeks to help prepare for the 1st Semester Exam in December.
Scientific Method
Students were given the Scientific Method Review Questions (Science Skills)-60 pts. They were to read the information from the chapter "Science Skills" in their textbook and answer the questions on their papers. They were informed of what to do with the notes and other information from the 1st 9 weeks to prepare for their 1st Semester Exam. They were also reminded to come dressed correctly for the SI Lab tomorrow.
Data Analysis
Students were instructed as to which problems they did not do well on the Chapter Assessment and Vocabulary Test. Then, they took the Data Analysis Chapter Test (100 pts). They were reminded of the lab on the Tuesday they return.
Measurement/Scientific Method
Students were allowed to review the Conversions/SI WS and correct orally. Then, they took the Measurements Quiz (50 pts). They began the Scientific Method Vocabulary after finishing the Quiz. They were reminded to dress for lab on Tuesday when they return.
Data Analysis
Students turned in their homework (Data Analysis Seek-n-Find, 45pts; Significant Figures +,-,x,/-45 pts) and took their Data Analysis Voc. Test (50 pts) and began the same chapters Chapter Assessment (60 pts). They will have the Data Analysis Chapter Test on tomorrow.
SI Review
Students worked on the SI Conversions WS (52 pts) in class. If they did not finish, they were to work on it for homework. They were reminded of the Measurment Quiz and Lab on tomorrow. Be sure you dress correctly and study.
Significant Figures
We competed the Data Analysis notes on types of graphs, then reviewed how to complete calculations involving the correct number of significant digits in Chemistry w/Algebra. They will have a Data Analysis Voc. Test on Wednesday and Chapter Test on Thursday.
