Students watched the final episodes of the movie, "The Day After". They were assigned an essay to see if they got any information on radiation and its effect on life. It was listed as a GOLD grade for the final grade of the year. Students were also given the opportunity to pick up the 3rd Qtr Review guide for their 2nd Semester Exam.
Empirical Formulas
Students began the Empirical Formulas WS (40 pts) and we worked a two problems on learning how to determine molecular formulas from percentages. The Seniors had the option to take their 2nd Semester Exam today or tomorrow.
“The Day After”
Students were to have turned in the Radiation Voc (34 pts). Then after a brief introduction into Radiation, students began viewing the 1983 film, "The Day After" to learn the effects of radiation on life.
Mole
Students completed the notes for the "Mole" Chapter Notes for studying empirical and molecular formulas. Then, we completed the Empirical Formulas WS (40 pts). They will have a "Mole" Chapter Test on Wednesday. Upon which they will receive the 2nd Sem. Exam Review Guide.
Work & Machines/Radioactivity
Students completed the Work & Machines Chapter Test (100 pts), then completed the Radioactivity Voc. (34 pts) for homework. They will be watching a video on the effects of nuclear radiation on Tuesday & Wednesday. The 2nd Sem. Exam Rev. Guide will be given any day of the week and assigned on Wednesday.
Mole
Students completed the Chemical Reactions Lab in 6th pd, and 4th period completed the Percent Composition WS.
Work & Machines
Students took the Work & Machines Voc. Test (44 pts). Then, they began on the Work & Machines Chapter Rev. (50 pts). They will have the Work & Machines Chapter Test on Monday.
Percent Composition
Students learned how to determine the Percent Composition by mass of a compound. Then they completed the WS on % Composition.
Work & Machines
Students completed the Work & Machines Power Point. Then, they completed the Work & Machines Crossword Puzzle (34 pts), the Types of Levers WS (27 pts), and Rev. Ex.2 (45 pts). They will have their Work & Machines Voc. Test Tomorrow.
Mass of a Compound to Particles/% Composition
Students completed the Mass of a Compound to Particles WS (30 pts), and we began the Percent Composition by mass of compounds notes and WS.
