Students continued the PowerPoint from the Lecture WS on Work and Machines. We discussed and took notes on the classes of levers, types of simple machines and how they operate. They were informed of the Vocabulary Test scheduled for tomorrow and chapter test for Friday.
Pre-ACT Test
Students in the 10th grade took the Pre-ACT Test
Molar Mass of Compounds
Students learned how to use the molar mass of compounds and convert them to formula units or molecules. We began the Molar Mass of compounds to compounds WS
Work Lecture WS
We went over the answers to the Work Lecture WS in class. They were reminded to be prepared for the Pre-ACT test on tomorrow. The schedule for the remainder of the school year was placed on the board.
Moles
5/3/18 (Thursday)
4th Pd
Students were shown how to convert from moles of a compound to a mass, we worked 3 problems on the board and they began the Mole of a compound to mass WPWS (30 pt). They were reminded that we would finish the Chemical Reactions Lab on Friday.
6th Pd
Students worked on the 3rd part of the Chemical Reactions Lab. They were to completely finish the Chemical Reactions Labs on Friday.

Work & Machines
Thursday (5/3/18)
Students began on the Work & Machines Lecture WS. They were reminded of the change of the Work Word Problem Test to Friday due to Awards Day Ceremonies.
Friday (5/4/18)
Students took the Work Word Problem Test (100 pts) and continued work on the Work & Machines Lecture WS. They were also given the schedule for the rest of the school year.
Lab – Decomposition Reactions
Students completed the Synthesis Reaction Lab in the lab yesterday. Today's goal is to complete the Decomposition Reactions(2).
Work, Power, MA & Effiency
Students completed the Work, Power, MA, and Efficiency Word Problem Practice Test (36 pts) in class in preparation for the Work Word Problems Test (100 pts) tomorrow.
Lab – Chemical Reactions
Students began the Chemical Reactions Lab.
Efficiency
Students learned what efficiency of a machine is and how to calculate efficiency. We worked 2 practice problems on the board and explained what efficiency is and how it is used. A Perfectly efficient machine was discussed and then they began the Efficiency Word Problem WS (21 pts). They were reminded of the Work Word Problem Test on Thursday.
