Students completed the final groups of nonmetals and their uses from the Periodic Table using the PPT. They were assigned the Crossword Puzzle for homework, which will aid them in studying for the Elements Voc. Test on Thursday and Chapter Test on Friday.
Elements & Their Properties
Students completed the final two groups and their uses from the Periodic Tables PPT. Then, they completed the Lecture WS (100 pts) using their notes on the Elements & Their Properties. They were assigned a Word search (40 pts) for homework. They will have the Voc Test on Elements & Their Properties tomorrow and the Chapter Test on the same material on Friday.
Carbon & Nitrogen Families
We continued with the PowerPoint and uses of the Carbon Family and Nitrogen family, their group characteristics and uses. What an allotrope and how minerals are related to the elements were also discussed. We are building towards a Elements Voc. Test on Thursday and Chapter Test on Friday.
Transition Elements
Students learned the key Transition Elements, where they are located and uses of the special transition elements. Students also learned the names of the two periods at the bottom of the Periodic Table and the most common ones. We began the location of the nonmetals on the Periodic Table, their properties and how they relate to metals. We are building towards a Vocabulary Test on Elements and their Properties on Thursday, and a chapter test on Friday.
The Elements
Students began to learn the chemical properties of Groups 1 & 2 of the Periodic Table. We also went over the uses of the various elements in the groups.

Students took the Periodic Table & Periodic Law Chapter Test and were assigned the Elements Vocabulary (44 pts) for homework.
