We continued to finish the data on the blocks of the Periodic Table. Then, we discussed, explained and examined the trends of atomic and ionic radii in the groups and periods of the Periodic Table.
Atomic #, Mass#, Atomic Mass
Students learned how to determine atomic number, mass number and atomic mass using the Periodic Table. We also reviewed the scientists responsible for the atomic theory. We concluded class on learning how to determine the number of protons, electrons and neutrons in an atom. The Atomic Structure WS (47 pts) was finished in class.
Periodic Table and Periodic Law
Students continued taking notes on the blocks of the periodic table, major types of elements, valence electrons and how the periodic table helps w/valence electrons and characteristics of the blocks.
Atomic Scientists and the Periodic Table
Students had a poptest (Bronze) grade on the scientists who developed the Atomic Theory and began notes on the parts of an atom, their location and charges.
The Periodic Table and Periodic Law
Students were taught to differentiate between groups/periods, the names of the major groups of elements, the three major types of elements on the periodic table and how to locate them, characteristics of metals and nonmetals, and what valence electrons are.
Atoms & the Periodic Table
Students took notes from the PPT on Atoms and the Periodic Table. We covered the scientists who developed the Periodic Table, the parts of the atom and where they are located. Students were assigned the Element Symbol WS (100 pts) for homework.
Periodic Table & Periodic Law
Students continued taking notes on the Periodic table and Periodic Law. We specifically discussed the items that appear in each square on the Periodic Table, Groups/Families, Periods, scientists who developed the PT and atomic number, metal & nonmetal characteristics and location on the Periodic Table.
Atoms & the Periodic Table
Students completed the "Atoms" Review Questions (60 pts). Then we began the notes from PPT on the Scientists who developed the Atomic Theory.
Periodic Table and the Periodic Law
We began the Notes via PPT on the Periodic Table and the Periodic Law. We began talking about the Law of Octaves and the Scientists who began the development of the Periodic Table.
Atoms & the Periodic Table
Students answered the "Atoms" Review Questions (60 pts). Then, we began the notes on "Atoms & the Periodic Table".
