Students took the Data Analysis Test (50 pts) and then began the Data Analysis Ch. Assessment for classwork/homework. They will have the Data Analysis Ch. Test on Tomorrow.
Measurement
We went over the answers to the Conversions WS, then we took the Measurements Quiz. I reminded the classes to dress correctly for the lab tomorrow or they will not be able to enter the lab for safety reasons.
Data Analysis
Students completed the Data Analysis Powerpoint and began the Data Analysis Seek-n-Find (50 pts). They will have a Data Analysis Voc. Test on tomorrow and Chapter Test on Thursday.
Measurement
Students discussed the different measurements and what they "looked like" from cm, mL, to temperature in SI. Then, they completed the SI Measurement Conversions WS (52 pts) which measures the knowledge on all Measurement Notes. They will have a Measurements Quiz (50 pts) on tomorrow. The Conversions WS was due 4th period on the way to lunch.
Density
Students were taught about density and how it effects matter. Then, we worked 3 practice problems on how to calculate density, mass and volume w/the correct units of measurement. They were assigned a Density WPWS for homework and advised of the Measurement Quiz on Wednesday.
Significant Digits
Students worked practice problems from p. 51-52. The problems were discussed and then information of how to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers with the correct number of significant digits were reviewed. They were assigned a Significant Digits (+, -, x, /) WS for homework. They will have a vocabulary test on Wednesday and Chapter Test on Thursday on Data Analysis.
Percent Error and Significant Digits
Students took notes from the PowerPoint on Percent Error; what it is and how to calculate it. Then, they received the % Error WS (48 pts) and completed it in class. They were also allowed to read and determine what significant digits are from the textbook and complete the Significant Digits WS (24 pts)
Temperature Conversions
Students took the Temperature Conversions Test (52 pts). Then, we went over the notes from the Measurements PPT and Density. Students were to take the Density WS on Monday in Class.
SI/English Conversions Test
Students took the PSAT yesterday so the SI/English Conversions Test was moved to today. Percent Error was discussed and calculated. Then, we began the Significant Digit notes after the test. Students were told to read and highlight important facts from the text on how to determine the significant digits.
Measurements
Students read from the textbook and answered the questions from "Measurements" on the Measurements RQ WS (60 pts). They will have the Temperature Conversions Test on Tomorrow. They were given the Temperature Conversion WS 1 and Temperature Conversions Table back to see what they missed prior to the test.
