Students completed the "To the Finish Line" WS (20 pts) and the Forces Ch. Rev (50 pts) and completed the Forces Voc. Test (34 pts). The Forces Chapter Test will be tomorrow.
Covalent Bonding
Students completed the Sec. 5 notes on Covalent Bonding. We also completed the combo worksheet on Naming and Writing formulas for Ionic & Covalent Compounds (50 pts each). We also took the Covalent Bonding Crossword Puzzle home in preparation the Covalent Bonding Voc. Test tomorrow.
Forces
We covered Projectile motion, Newton's 3rd Law of Motion and centripetal forces in the Powerpoint on "Forces". At the conclusion of the notes, students were given a "Momentum" word problem worksheet (20 pts) to calculate momentum, mass or velocity. They were also given a "Forces" Crossword Puzzle (20 pts) to complete for homework. They will have the Forces Vocabulary Test tomorrow.
Covalent Bonding
Students continued the presenting of information on Covalent Bonding and VSEPR theory in Sec. 4 & 5. This will allow us to have the Covalent Bonding Voc. Test on Wednesday and Chapter Test on Thursday.
Forces
We defined and described where "gravity" comes from, the forces on stationary objects, how an object can be balanced or unbalanced, the "Law of Universal Gravitation", and the differences in mass and weight. We concluded class with a worksheet on how to calculate the weight of an object. The "Weight" Word Problem WS was worth 30 pts. They will have the Forces Voc. Test on Thursday and Forces Ch. Test on Friday.
VSEPR and Lewis Structures
Students were able to continue to teach on Lewis Structures and how to draw Covalent Compounds. We also completed a worksheet on Naming and Writing Formulas with Covalent/Ionic Compounds (50 pts each).
Forces & Friction
Students took notes on types of friction and how they affect you from the "Forces" Powerpoint". They were encouraged to be at school next week and plan for a chapter test on Forces by Thursday.

Students continued to present the outlines and pertinent information to classmates in order to prepare for the end of chapter test.
Forces
Students completed the "Forces" Review Questions WS (50 pts) in class. We then began the "Forces" Notes from the PPT. They were reminded to have a calculator each day. We will also have the "Motion" Lab when the weather warms up.
Covalent Bonding
Students turned in the "Covalent Bonding" Sec. 3 & 4 Outline (40 pts) and then were allowed to teach each other in the items that were from Sec. 1 & 2. We then went over Sec. 3 & 4 together.
