“You were born to make a difference.”

If you’re not an educator, you may have never seen this video before. Ms. Rita Pierson has been inspiring educators for years. I have seen this video played in the university setting as a student and in faculty meetings as a teacher. I watch it every year to inspire me (along with Kid President of course)! One year, my class and I recited her mantra every morning after the Forest Oaks Creed, the Pledge of Allegiance, and moment of silence. Forming relationships with my students (and even their families) is the biggest reward and most special memory I hold of each class and the bond we made as a family for years to come.

Her words remind me every year of why I became a teacher. I hope she encourages you too.
