Teacher Resources

Looking for some favorite author read-alouds to expand your classroom library? Here are my faves and some examples of books they’re known for!

Mo Willems (Piggie and Gerald set)
Janell Cannon (Stellaluna)
Tomie De Paola (Legend of the Poinsettia)
David Shannon (No, David)
Doreen Cronin (Click Clack Moo, Diary of a Spider)
Jon Klassen (I Want My Hat Back)
Peter Reynolds (The Dot)
Kevin Henkes (Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse)
National Geographic: who would win animal vs. animal book
(and any book read alouds from Amy Lemons on TPT)
Carole Boston Weatherford (Moses)
There’s also some poetry books called “I Read to You, You Read to Me” (scholastic I think) that help with fluency practice for a child and parent to take turns reading a highlighted line!
