I just wanted to start a series of quick tips based on common concerns that I address in my classroom.
Below is a helpful article about why children lie and what we can do about it as caring adults who play a role in their lives. This is something parents and I talk about each year. I try to understand things from a student’s perspective (because they think and see things differently than adults do). I try to find out the “why” behind their actions so that I can understand their reasoning. I try to find out the WHOLE story from all students involved. Then, I talk to them about the high importance of being honest and telling the truth even if it’s scary. Here is an article that I found interesting and helpful with this issue!
