“6 amendments” – by former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens – who, by the way, is like 90 years old now – but he wrote another book – this one, rather short – six amendments congress should pass to touch up the Constitution – clear things up so that judges don’t have to haphazardly interpret – i enjoyed the book – thoroughly – i’m a law geek like that – i guess the sad part was twofold – one, that congress won’t do anything with the amendments – two, that he wrote the book b/c of what happened in Newtown, Conn., two years ago – 20-plus elem kids die in a shooting and nothing much changes – that still saddens me – greatly
“factory man” – recommended from the NY Times top 100 list – story of a factory – a furniture factory – and its generations – including a current guy that’s staved offshore sending – saved jobs – practically saved the town he was operating in – just a wonderful book about the historical – and personal – effects that industry has – by the way, i don’t think i’ll ever buy from Rooms 2 Go after reading this book

Okay, you know how at some school the seniors get the have a saying from them next to their picture in the year book? Well in excitement of the new year i decided to talk about teens and how they choose what will be next to their name forever.

I think everyone has self confidence problems, but some people are worse than others. Some people feel that they can only feel pretty with a layer of makeup on the face. Some people right these tings to remind others of the mistakes they’ve made so others dont make them or they write things like this to remind themselves that those things are behind them

People say life is short so you’ll have more incentive to do things and then you’ll achieve your goals in life. But to be completely bleak, life is short but it is the longest thing you’ll ever do. In my mind you shouldnt really need incentive for most things because if you want to do things just do them dont have somebody tell you that you should do something just because yolo, you should do it because you want to and you’re not afraid.

Grandma liked criticism, or that is what Sarah thought because every time she would come over she would say, “Son i can’t believe that after the incident you still drink!” but then Sarah’s dad would make kind of a nodding head and keep his eyes on him plate. Also Sarah thought it was strange that she told him to stop drinking when she drank her wine sometime while Sarah would spend the summer with her. (that was a dumb thing to say b/c it is a different thing to tell someone no to get drunk rather than to drink!” just saying!)
Sarah walked over to charlotte’s house and there was Finn, just standing there with his arms crossed…

She said, “Hey” thyen he said, “Mrs. Dupree said we could come over and get some books that she did not want and she would donate the rest to charity… I already got this one for you ;)…” The book was called, “To kill a mockingbird” by Harper Lee. Then she opens the book to a sticknote and under it, it read, “Our mother died when I was two,” says Scout, “so I never got to feel her absence..” Sarah touched the book like it was gold. “I thought this was poignant,” says Finn. “I thought it would help..” he says. “With what?” Sarah ask. “The price is right.” Sarah did not even have to answer she new what he was thinking.

Creative Writing
Down by 9 with :54 to play. Alabama had been behind all game to the Oregon Ducks in the College football Playoff. It was a two-possesion game which means they would have to score a touchdown then get the ball back most likely on an onside kick. They were on Oregon’s 33 yard line and it was fourth down. It was a risk you had to take to either go for the first down and if you fail you lose. Or kick a field goal and try to get the ball back. The desicion Lane Kiffin made was one the Alabama fans were worried about. He chose to go for it. Blake Sims took the ball and rolled right and looked for Amari Cooper. Double teamed which means someone was open and it was DeAndrew White in the end zone. Sims threw it and it was an easy touchdown. 35-33. Alabama now had to get an onside kick and Amari Cooper snagged it. :34. All they need is a field goal. They handed it off to Derrick Henry and he got a HUGE run of 15 yards and a timeout was called. Alabama’s last. On the 34 yard line they were in field goal range, and with :10 seconds left that’s what they did. Adam Griffith centered up and it bounced off the left upright but still fell in. Victory for the TIDE!!!
I really wish this is what Alabama really did in the playoff instead of getting beaten by Ohio State

Commentary: After killing a boy a new wizard is seen as a threat and Merlin’s wife( nimue) is trying to find a way out of his dungeon. She just can’t get her thoughts together. This is important because this is the beginning of Nimue’s journey.

Ok so here’s a creative poem to start off my journals for the week. I’ll write an Elizabethan sonnet, since it’s fresh on my mind after doing a couple this week in class – except for a more modernized approach, it will be freeverse.
Ambition
A dream, hoped to be accomplished
to enjoy it’s riches
and the feeling of accomplishment
that such a dream gives you.
A strive, to do whatever it takes
to enjoy this happiness
to enjoy this prosperous new hope
that is provided as a result of your strive.
A hope, that all your work will pay off
and that you won’t end up coming short
and that what you’ve wanted, if you get it,

So we trust and pray that one day

Sarah thanked him for the book then the both went to the end of the end of the neighborhood so they could go to Mrs. Dupree’s house, and find books. When they got there Mrs. Dupree led them straight to the garage where the books were. I took them hours because they had to not JUST judge the book my its cover. They had to read the first few pages of each 100 (or more) books! ___________ Then Charlotte took Finn and Sarah to the mall. And Sarah was not to thrilled about that B/C she said, “Shoping is only fun if you have money…” Sarah HAD NO money.

When they got to the mall Charlotte took off to everything she saw that she thought was cute. Then Finn and Sarah found something that they liked… BOOKS!!!!! They both started to look at every book with Charlotte at there side looking off into space. Then Charlotte looked outside the door and saw something on sale and ran off, then Finn and Sarah followed. Then they all got hungry and went to the food court and when they all finished he come Christopher,.. “When do you wan’t to go Charlotte?” Finn asked. “Now would be a GREAT time.” She said. Then Finn sat back way back in his chair and gave Sarah a smile, she said it warmed her heart…

At The High-School Wednesday,
So Today is Milkshake Day!! (ironically)
Instead of a Milkshake(Because I don’t want hypothermia) I got fries.. which was sad because I love dipping fries into my Milkshake. That didn’t stop me from demolishing those fries though. I know that the forecast says snow- FLURRIES but I want it to be snow-BLANKETS Because we Alabamians deserve this! The only thing I would miss about late starts is that we might not have news crew which is the highlight of my Day!!( yes my life is that boring) especially now that I have watched The last episode of Sherlock(detective told me that)

Ah, it’s good to be back blogging after a wonderful Christmas break. Santa hit me up with a bunch of Stephen King, and the sequel to The Giver. It was a nice haul.
The sequel is called Gathering Blue. Instead of the story focusing on the affairs of Jonas, the story focuses on a girl named Kira.
Line: “She thought that she could feel its leave-taking, the way one could feel a small whisper of breeze at night.” (Lowry, 2000)
Commentary: Kira’s mother has just passed away and the narrator describes that Kira thinks she can feel her mother’s spirit leaving her body, comparing it to a small whistle of breeze at night.
Line: “Fear was always a part of life for the people. Because of fear, they made shelter and found food and grew things.” (Lowry, 2000)
Commentary: I had never really used fear as the reason why humans did things to survive, but out of fear actually makes a lot of sense. Humans fear death, so they do things to keep them from dying.
Line: “They don’t want you should stay. They be planning to turn you out” (Lowry, 2000)
Commentary: The significance of this line is the diction. The author creates unique dialects for her characters and it’s really interesting to read in the different tongues.
Creative:
