Mrs. Cook Instructing...
Students reviewed the concepts on nomenclature of ionic bonds and how to write ionic bonding in a brief poptest and orally. Then, they covered what a polyatomic ion is and the nomenclature of ionic compounds with polyatomic ions.
They also began covering the concept of covalent bonding using the notes from the Powerpoint.
Mrs. Cook teaching...
Students began the concepts on Ionic Bonding as they used the textbook to find the properties and characteristics of ionic bonding.
Mrs. Cook teaching...
Students continued working on Chemical Bonding using Cards w/ions that were to simulate Ionic Bonding. They received a card and were allowed to bond w/3 other students to form Ionic Bonds. All ionic bonds were represented on a worksheet to show the chemical bonds.
Mrs. Cook, Instructor
Students completed the "Ionic Compounds" Concepts as they answered the review questions from their textbook.
Mrs. Cook, Instructor
Students learned how to write ionic formulas using the PowerPoint on "Chemical Bonding".
