If any 8th graders would like a Broadcast Application for OMHS, please stop by Ms. Salmon’s room (D4). Also if you have already picked one up, please return it to Ms. Salmon as soon as possible.
Cheer tryout packets and payments are due February 28, 2020.
Any 8th Grader interested in running for a 9th grade SGA officer or representative position should plan to pick up an application in A17. All applications are due by Friday, February 28th. 8th graders who have already turned in their SGA application for the high school & are running for an office, need to stop by Mrs. Higginbotham’s room to sign up for a time to record your speech.
The mandatory meeting for any student interested in trying out for the OMHS Color Guard, Dance Team, or Majorettes will be Thursday, February 27th at 6:00pm in the OMHS Band Room. Interested students need to attend with a parent. If you have any questions about trying out, please email ksheffield@shelbyed.org.
Due to limited interest at this time, dance try-outs have been postponed to April 13-17. Please see Mrs. Bishop with any questions.

Science Club will meet today from 3:00-4:30.
If you are trying out for the 7th or 8th grade cheer squads, all of your paperwork and DragonFly MAX requirements need to be completed by this Friday, Feb. 28. If they are not completed you will be ineligible to tryout. If you have any questions, please see Coach Salmon/Coach Toretta.

We are gearing up for March Madness in the library. Do you want to choose the best book in the library and possibly win candy, media money, or a gift card to Amazon, Starbucks, Chick-Fil-A, etc? Join us for March Madness as we vote to see which book will win! See your ELA teacher, Mrs. Collins, or Mrs. Howton for the code to join in on the fun!
Any student auditioning for show choir must attend one of the mandatory choreography clinics either Monday, March 2 or Tuesday, March 3 after school from 3:15-4:30. Students must also turn in their Audition Agreement Form and 2 Teacher Recommendation Forms before they will be allowed to audition.
Girl Talk will meet tomorrow until 4:30pm.
Front office and Admin office aides will meet in the gym during Advisory for their yearbook photo.
OMMS PTO is looking for businesses to sponsor our school! For $250, your company logo will be featured on the OMMS Life Facebook page (which has over 900 followers!) all year long and your company information will be distributed in a school-wide list serve email. Our partnership allows for extremely targeted advertising to almost 1,100 students and their families! Please turn in the attached form and your donation to the front office to show your support of OMMS students and teachers!
Registration for the Oak Mountain High School Color Run is now open at www.oakmountaincolorrun.com. The date is March 7 at Oak Mountain State Park. All proceeds will benefit the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB. Help us pass the $100,000 mark raised by supporting and signing up this year!
