Please see the attached information for arrival and dismissal from the OMMS Valentine’s Gala tonight.

Upon arrival vehicles should enter in front of OMES and follow the attached map to the OMMS bus canopy (near the gym) for drop off and exit onto Hwy 119 via the OMMS bus entrance.  

Please do not enter the OMMS bus entrance or the OMMS front parking lot entrance for gala drop off.

Dismissal information is attached.  

6th grade dismissal at 9pm

7th grade dismissal at 9:30pm

8th grade dismissal at 10pm

Happy National School Counseling Week to our wonderful OMMS Counselors Mrs. Becnel, Mrs. Nipp and Mr. Winningham!  We appreciate all that you do for OMMS!

JUNA will meet Monday after school until 4:30pm.  It is very important that all members be in attendance.

Are you interested in being a part of the OMMS Book Olympiad team this spring? Even though there will not be a county competition, the OMMS team will read and discuss several books and participate in fun activities after school based on the books. OMMS SPORTS

Current 6th and 7th grade girls that want to try out for the 2022 volleyball teams need to complete all requirements found on the OMMS Volleyball Website and sign up in Coach Gunnels’s room A-21. Requirements must be met by March 2nd – NO EXCEPTIONS. Tryouts will be held March 7-10 at OMMS. 

Cheer Tryouts:  Current 6th and 7th grade girls wanting to try out for the 2022-23 cheerleading squad must sign up in Coach Chartrand’s room (D-5) by today. All candidates must be 100% in Dragonfly by Friday, Mar. 4-NO EXCEPTIONS. Clinic is Tuesday, March 15- Thursday, March 17 (mandatory). Tryouts are Friday, Mar. 18th at OMMS.

The Oak Mountain Color Run will be on Saturday, March 5th at Oak Mountain State Park. Proceeds from this event will be given to the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB for cancer research. For more information and to register, visit the SGA Color Run website, COLOR RUN 2022 . 

The interest meeting for the 2022-2023 OMHS Visual Ensemble will be held on Thursday, February 24th at 6:00pm in the OMHS Band Room. Anyone interested in trying out for high school Color Guard, Dance Team, or Majorettes, or for middle school Winter Guard or JV Majorettes needs to attend with a parent. Mandatory tryout clinics will be April 4th-6th from 3:30-6:45 and tryouts will be held on Thursday, April 7th beginning at 3:30pm.
