THERE WILL BE NO GOLD GRADE THIS WEEK OTHER THAN THE ESSAY. THE TEST PLANNED FOR THURSDAY IS NOW A QUIZ (SILVER GRADE)! Monday, November 3, 2014 Substitute will be here Do not turn in your final essay to the substitute. Wait until I am back on Tuesday. 1. No bellringer. 2. Need your literature textbook. First period needs to finish reading “Hiroshima”, second period needs to begin reading “Hiroshima” 3. Classes will finish reading “Hiroshima” in class or for homework. They are to answer questions on page 995 1-6. Write Q and A or complete sentences. They will turn them in tomorrow in class.

Tuesday, November 4, 2014 1. Bellringer #2 2. Take up final drafts of essays—gold grade 3. Turn in questions on page 995 “Critical Reading” on “Hiroshima” (You will get a bronze grade and then, when returned, you will add it to your notebook’s table of contents.) 4. Review questions on pg. 995 5. Read page 996-997 about Randall Jarrell and “The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner” 6. Split up into four groups. Group 1 answers the first question on page 997 “Critical Reading”, Group 2 answers the second question, and so on. Write answer on index cards and share after everyone has had time to respond. 7. Homework is to answer questions on page 998 1-10 and vocabulary on page 999 answers only on 999

Wednesday, November 5, 2014 1. Bellringer #3 2. Turn in homework on page 998 1-10. And 999 (answers only on that page) Make sure you are putting your name, page numbers, and what the assignment is on the top of the page. (You will get a bronze grade and then, when returned, you will add it to your notebook’s table of contents.) 3. Instead of having a jeopardy review game to get ready for a test on “The Life…, Hiroshima, and Ball Turret”…you will complete a worksheet packet that I have a class set of. This will enhance your knowledge on themes, political assumptions, vocabulary, writing, and the idea of Ethics of War. * The test grade is being changed to a silver grade (30%) and it will only cover Hiroshima and Ball Turret.

Thursday, November 6, 2014 1. Bellringer #4 2. Quiz —Hiroshima and Ball Turret Gunner (Silver grade) 3. Continue to work on work from yesterday: Implied Theme, Analyze Political Assumptions, Vocabulary Builder, Support for Writing, Ethics of Warfare 4. Turn in for bronze points
