Today we read Act 3, scene 1 in Romeo and Juliet. No homework. If you didn’t write down the four vocab words at the beginning of the act, do that and put it in your folder.
Also, what time is it in Verona, Italy right now? You can also see what the weather is like.
Homework tonight (WED) is to write questions and write answers for the questions on page 745 in literature book. Numbers 1-7.
I WILL TAKE IT UP. DO NOT COPY FROM ANYONE.
Did someone say bonus? Write “Fruit Loops” on the bottom of your homework (after your last question and answer) for one bonus pt on it. 🙂
In this one, Acts I through II are pages 1 -51: Romeo and Juliet online–you can download this onto your iPhone, iPad, Kindle, etc. if I read it correctly.

Monday: In class we read Act 2, Scene 3, reviewed what we’ve read, did an Ideal Mate survey, and homework is writing down vocabulary on pages 695 and 722. Both Act I and Act II vocabulary goes on one page. Is page 6 in your folder.
Tuesday: Act 2, Scene 4, review sheet
Wednesday: Finish Act 2 (scenes 5 and 6), Questions after Act 2
Thursday: Review for test tomorrow. Make a vocabulary wheel for Acts I and II
Friday: Test on Acts I and II. No folders will be taken up at this time. Will be taken up at a later date.

Tomorrow you will come in to a new classroom layout and you will be either a Montague or a Capulet. The Montague side will be blue and the Capulet side will be red. If you are in purple, you are neither side, but royalty. If you are brown, you are the clergy.
Finish the essay you started in class. Topics you were to choose from:
1. Analyze hypocrisy in the novel. Support your views by citing three specific incidents.
2. What other characters besides Scout have had his/her eyes opened and how? What are the lessons learned? Pick 3 characters who have grown up or changed somehow in the novel.
3. How are Boo Radley and Tom Robinson similar? Give three examples that back up your claims.
4. What events foreshadow that Boo Radley will save Scout and Jem’s lives? Give three examples from the novel.
5. How is Atticus different from other fathers in the novel? Pick three fathers to compare to Atticus.
6. How does Jem’s relationship with Scout change throughout the novel? Use 3 different events with specific details to explain.
Should be 5 paragraphs.
If typed, it is extra credit. (10 pts extra)
Type it in Times New Roman, size 12, Double space.
Need 3 quotations from the novel in the body. One per paragraph.
MLA style.
