Test Tomorrow!

pilgrim

Happy Holiday Day…kicking off Homecoming Week.  I hope you enjoyed our Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade the teachers put on for you this morning. It was fun seeing your faces either surprised, disgusted, shocked, or just smiling. 🙂 Maybe next year we can throw more candy.  (Sorry about the pine cone, A.P.)

Test tomorrow on chapters 1-10 of Their Eyes Were Watching God.

Multiple Choice.

Narrative essays are being graded. Slowly but surely I will get them into iNow. Please be patient.

If you missed class today, we did a bellringer and did summary squares for chapters 9 and 10, then studied/read quietly.

Friday, September 26! WEEKEND HOMEWORK (Just a lil’ bit!)

Good afternoon!  Today was an interesting one, since it was Hillbilly Day…whoo hoo, I’ve seen some crazy stuff today. You guys have great school spirit!

Today in class, all my 11th grade classes did Bellringer 4, which once again was about vocabulary words found in Their Eyes Were Watching God. We discussed chapters six, seven, and eight from the novel and wrote summaries of each one in our summary squares. After that, we went over the answers for the three worksheets I had previously given to you on fig. language, imagery, and conflict.

HW for weekend is to read chapters 9 and 10 in Their Eyes Were Watching God.

Remember test is on Tuesday on Chapters 1-10. It will be multiple choice. Monday we will review for the test.

Ernesto, in case you check this blog–your rough draft of the narrative essay is here on my desk. 🙂

Hello!

Today first and eighth period completed a bellringer (#3), a summary square for chapter 6, and worked on the three worksheets I gave you yesterday–the ones about figurative language, imagery, and conflict. These worksheets will be pages 7,8, and 9 in your folder.

Second and fifth period were able to get into the library’s computer lab to type theirnarrative essay if they needed to. Everyone else worked on their three worksheets.

Remember: Narrative Essays, typed and following the rules of the rubric, are due tomorrow for a gold grade.  This is a big deal. Don’t forget to proofread.

Homework tonight is to read chapters 7 and 8. They are both pretty short.IMG_6546-Quote
