Today we read a lot of Act 5 in Romeo and Juliet, wrote down the vocabulary for Act 5, and reviewed (most of the classes did) the Writer’s Choice work from yesterday (see yesterday’s post). No homework tonight.
Tomorrow we will finish the play! Whoo hoo!
Today is the 30th anniversary of the death of John Lennon. If you don’t know much about him, check out this link.
Today in class we reviewed subject verb agreement in our Writer’s Choice books. Students did the following work: (Answers only on all.)

No homework tonight. Painting below is by Magritte.
Today we turned in our folders for Act 2 and 3 and took an openbook test on Acts 1-3. Grades are pretty good! We also turned in Warm Ups.
Next week we will finish the play.
No homework! Enjoy the weekend.
The painting here is by one of my faves—Modigliani. (What a tragic life he and this woman—-> had.)
Now that we are done with Act 3, answer the questions on page 773 in your lit book. Write questions and answers OR write answers in a COMPLETE sentence, restating the question. 1-9. Also do 1 and 2 on the literary analysis part.
Folder due tomorrow. 100 points. You should have five pages.
Openbook multiple choice test on Acts 1-3 tomorrow. 100 points.
This weather is awful. Anyway, we are reading Act III of Romeo and Juliet in class this week and doing some grammar work. Benchmark is December 15. We get out for Christmas break on the 17th.
Homework tonight: Writer’s Choice grammar book—-page 594 Ex. 16 and 17. Write sentences on Ex. 17.
Calendar will be posted later today.
I’m very thankful for all of my wonderful students!
Parents, we finished up Act II of Romeo and Juliet and they watched the video of Act I and Act II (1968 version). When we get back after Thanksgiving, we will read Act III and then (hopefully that Friday, Dec. 3rd) take a combined test on Act II and III with folders turned in then.
I haven’t been able to get much grading done in the past four or so days because I’ve been so sick, but hopefully I can find my energy over the break and get things moving again.
Have a blessed time with your family.
