Don’t forget: finish Ex. 1,2,3 tonight, pgs 689-693. We will work on persuasive essays in class tomorrow unless you want to type tonight. 🙂
Here are some pics from a few weeks ago when they were either finding examples of propaganda (during Animal Farm study) in magazines or writing a quick short story using photos on the Elmo/overhead.

Week Ahead
Today (Monday) in class, we read chapter 8 in Animal Farm and went over the vocabulary matching homework. I instructed students to change date for test from this Friday to next Wednesday. (First period had to read chapter 7 as they were behind.)
Tomorrow (Tuesday) we will do some review of who/whom, pronoun cases, and will review questions from chapters five through 7.
We will also do a little bit of fun creative writing for a break, using photographs in a series.
Wednesday we will read chapter 9 in Animal Farm.
Thursday we will review propaganda again, this time as a group activity. Then we will write a story in the same groups, using different photos in a series.
Friday we will read chapter 10 in Animal Farm, finishing the book.
Test and folder on Wednesday, February 27. Be ready! Will cover facts about Animal Farm, Pronoun Case/Who and Whom, propaganda types, and vocabulary.

Look BACK at the Week
Sorry I didn’t update this week. Whirlwind of a week.
Here’s what you missed if you have been absent and we have had a LOT of sick students, so you are not alone.
We have read chapters 1-3 in Animal Farm in class. Homework for the weekend is to read chapter 4.
Students have pages 1-4 on their table of contents: 1. Anticipation Guide for AF 2. PowerPoint Notes (2 pages–fill in the blanks as we go) 3. Cast of Characters for Animal Farm 4. The Commandments (we completed as a class)
Today (Friday) we are in the computer lab typing up the poem that we wrote a few weeks ago (Wordsworth Tribute Poem) and adding clipart/photos to it.
Have a great weekend! We should be on track with our Feb. calendar next week.
