Great site to learn more about Victorian England, which is when Great Expectations is set.dickensjewishman

  Multiple Choice Vocab Unit 4 Test tomorrow.  Today in class we read an article from The Economist called “Curl Up With a Good Screen.” We found the main idea, highlighted words and phrases we didn’t recognize, and then wrote our opinions about the topic.  You can read the article here. 

Then we worked on a worksheet together–the causes of Pip’s expectations and its effects…

THEN we read chapter 20 in class, which described Jaggers’ law office and which included a shocking scene. Which scene was it?

Test on 10-19 was today. If you are at home and absent from school, make up tomorrow or Friday.

Turn in registration forms for 10th grade tomorrow. Make sure the course numbers are filled in and that your parents have signed it. 

Journals due tomorrow. 15 entries at the least.

Coming up this week

Monday—quiz on 14-18

Wednesday—multiple choice test on 10-19, turn in vocab story for unit 4

Thursday—journals due–20 entries and SOPHOMORE REGISTRATION sheets due. Make sure you have the course numbers on there, the right teacher signatures, and that it’s in ink.  Also, of course, make sure you and your parents sign it.

Friday—Lit circle role sheets should be done and you should be ready to discuss chapters 10-19 with your group.  After lit circle, matching vocab unit 4 test.
