you were supposed to read chapter 9 and 10. (Was on the board.)
See you Tuesday.
Read chapter 8 in Great Expectations for homework.
Today’s lit circles went very well. I’m very proud of you guys! Next lit circle will be next Friday. Have your role sheet ready
First of all, regular school hours tomorrow.
Homework: Read chapter 7 of Great Expectations and fill out your rolesheet so you’ll have something to help you in the literary circle discussion tomorrow. You’ll be discussing chapters 1-7, not chapters 1-10 as previously put on the calendar. (These “snow days” and odd hours take their toll!) (Pic of one of last year’s lit circles in this post.)
Today in class we finished taking sequence of events notes, listened to chapter six being read aloud, and turned in vocabulary unit 4. If you were absent today, make sure you are caught up with these.
Tonight, I want you to settle in a comfy chair, sip some hot chocolate, pull on that Snuggie and read chapter 5 of Great Expectations. Make sure your vocab unit 4 is done. I’m giving you extra time to do this so don’t disappoint me.
Grades will be getting into STI this week…
Remember you are to read chapter four of Great Expectations for your homework. (Make sure the link goes to chapter four and not chapter five automatically…) Audio version of the book! HERE!!!
No school so… you should read chapter five and do your vocabulary work for Unit 4.
Here is a modern version of the movie. Seven minutes long—it’s only one out of several videos.
Here is a great time line of Dickens’ life.
Some of you asked about Dickens’ kids—here is a great site to find out about them.
Who is here? Comment away if you are! Anyone want to ask a question or make a statement about GE so far?
Read chapter 4 in Great Expectations. Don’t worry about doing vocab unit 4 until Monday. I’ll save some time in class for that. Please catch up on chapters 2-3 if you didn’t read that like you were supposed to already.
Bring vocab book on Monday. If it snows/is too icy and you can’t come to school, read chapter 5 at home and do vocab book work at home. 🙂 It will be fun. You can pretend it’s homeschool! 🙂
Read chapters 2-3 in Great Expectations. I sent word to the sub to tell you this, I wrote this on the board before I left for the day yesterday, it’s on the calendar, and now it’s on the blog. I hope everyone reads 2-3 tonight because there will be a quiz tomorrow on chapters 1-3.
🙂
We began Great Expectations today. Please finish chapter one at home for homework. If you still (for some reason?) don’t have a copy, here is chapter one online. I will put the link to the entire book over in the links to the right.
Be sure you get your hands on a copy of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations before we begin the novel this week!!!! I have some copies in class. If you want to reserve it for yourself, let me know.
Bring journal to class this week.
HERE IS YOUR JANUARY CALENDAR!!!!—->>>>>>>january2011
And Happy New Year!
I will see you guys in 2011 and by the way…
I am not done with grades yet, so don’t despair or rejoice too much with anything you see on STI. 🙂 Especially sixth and seventh period.
Grades will be completed on January 3rd.
It’s been a great year so far! I hope you guys get everything you want for Christmas! Especially that REAL BOOK, Great Expectations!
