Ag Foundation Scholarship Program Applications Due April 1

Applications for the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation (AFAF) scholarship program are available online and due April 1.
The $1,750 AFAF scholarships are available to high school seniors
and college students from participating counties seeking an agriculture-
related degree at Auburn University or Alabama A&M University.
This marks the fourth year for the Agriculture Foundation program,
which provides $1,250 in matching funds for county Federations
that contribute $500 to the scholarship.

STEM Camp

Jefferson State Community College is holding a free STEM Camp June 20-23 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Explore exciting careers in robotics, manufacturing, automotive technology, and many more. Hear from industry leaders about what they look for in potential employees and the types of jobs they have available. To be eligible, you must be entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in Fall 2016 and have an interest in pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering, or math. Psi Xi Omega AKA Sorority Scholarship

Be an African American female graduating from a Shelby County high school

Possess a 3.0 cumulative GPA

Jeff State Preview Day

Jefferson State Community College will be hosting Preview Day for all graduating seniors who are interested in attending Jeff State. Preview Day begins at 9:00 a.m. The day will cover information about the enrollment process, financial aid, scholarships, career programs, and transfer programs. There will be a Q&A sessions, as well as interactive workshops with department faculty. Pizza and drinks will be provided for lunch.

Herb Hanes – Bill Sparks Scholarship

The Ensley High School Alumni Association is receiving applications for the Herb Hanes – Bill Sparks Scholarship. The $2,500 scholarship will be paid to any Alabama college or university of the winner’s choice to be used for tuition and books. To qualify for the scholarship, the senior applicant must have:

  1. Participated in varsity athletics or in an athletic related activity (cheerleader, trainer, dance team, etc.) at a Jefferson or Shelby County high school.
  2. Been accepted into a 4 year Alabama college or university.
  3. Completed all required forms.

The deadline for receiving applications is April 20, 2016.
