Jacksonville State University Scholarship Information

JSU Scholarship Information It’s no secret that applying for scholarships can be stressful for students and their families, but JSU strives to provide an affordable college experience to everyone! There are three different places we encourage students to check out for scholarships. Here are a few helpful places to start:

Merit-based scholarships: These are automatically applied to accepted students who qualify. Here are the standards in which the scholarships are awarded! For questions about Honors (due January 8, 2021) and Leadership scholarships (due February 1, 2021) , be sure to scroll to the bottom of the webpage. Like our admissions policy, merit-based scholarships are currently test-optional/test-blind. They will be determined on GPA, but submitted test scores have the potential to increase a student’s scholarship amount! Students have until May 1, 2021 to send us updated GPA’s, ACT’s, or SAT scores in order to increase their scholarship amount.

JAXapp (due February 1, 2021) : T his is an institution-wide application (meaning all active students can apply). Students can apply to over 250+ scholarships through this single application by using their MyJSU login credentials. Here is where you can find more information. The JAXapp includes Performance-based scholarships , such as drama or music, that require interviews or auditions that are scheduled on a departmental-basis.

Outside scholarships: You never know what additional funds your students may qualify for. Here is a good place to find some golden nugget scholarships, but we encourage your student to research any and all organizations. Fun fact: we’ve had some students pay for their entire tuition through outside scholarships alone!

Your Admissions team is here to help with any merit-based scholarship questions. All other scholarship questions can be directed to the JSU Scholarship Office at (256) 782-8040 or scholarships@jsu.edu .
