Jefferson State Community College is holding a free STEM Camp June 20-23 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Explore exciting careers in robotics, manufacturing, automotive technology, and many more. Hear from industry leaders about what they look for in potential employees and the types of jobs they have available. To be eligible, you must be entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in Fall 2016 and have an interest in pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering, or math. The University of Alabama at Huntsville is holding a College of Nursing open house March 11th, 2016, and April 5th, 2016. To register for the event, go to www.uah.edu/nursing/open-house.
The local scholarship application is now available in my office. The application and supporting documents should be turned in by April 4th, 2016.
Each year Shelby County Education Association awards a select number of scholarships to members and to senior students of members. To be considered, SCEA members in good standing must complete the appropriate form and submit all required materials on or before the March 10 deadline.

Jefferson State Community College will be hosting Preview Day for all graduating seniors who are interested in attending Jeff State. Preview Day begins at 9:00 a.m. The day will cover information about the enrollment process, financial aid, scholarships, career programs, and transfer programs. There will be a Q&A sessions, as well as interactive workshops with department faculty. Pizza and drinks will be provided for lunch.
