Smith Scholarship

The Smith Scholarship Foundation will begin accepting on-line Applications
on October 1, 2019 for the Smith Scholarship Program. The Smith
Scholarship Foundation Program is an Accountability Scholarship Program
providing assistance to High School Seniors who have “given back” to their
community through volunteer activities or by caring for family while
overcoming financial and personal challenges.

The SSF Programs provide up to $15,000 a year in financial assistance plus
opportunities for study abroad, professional training through its Internship
Program as well as valuable assistance from Mentors who counsel and
assist students with academic, personal and professional obstacles. All
assistance is subject to strict compliance with SSF Guidelines. SSF is a last
dollar supplemental scholarship.

$500 Cathy Barker STEM Scholarship

To qualify, applicants must be a high school senior and must be planning to attend a college, university, or technical school in Alabama.  Student must be planning to study Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.  Science may include such courses of Nursing, Physical Education, Physical Therapy, and Pharmacy.    Attendance at an online institution is not eligible for this scholarship.

Juniors!! Scholarship Opportunity

Hometown Lenders in Birmingham scholarship is intended for students whose parents are first responders AND who are in the graduating class of 2020.

Applicants should submit a complete packet which includes: a scholarship application, two letters of recommendation, a photo of the student with their first responder parent, and a typed essay titled “ How has being the child of a First Responder impacted your life and shaped your goals for the future?”

Scholarship applications should be postmarked or received by June 15, 2019.

Southeastern States Pupil Transportation Conf. Student Scholarship

A student qualifies by graduating from a public high school and then attending a post-secondary educational institution in 2019.  The $2,500 scholarship can be used for any part of the student’s 2019-2020 school year tuition, books, or fees.

$1,000 education scholarship awarded to two deserving public school students whose parent or guardian is an active pupil transportation employee for the past three years.  A student qualifies by graduating from a public high school and then attending a post-secondary education institution in 2019-2020.  Eligible students must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA and are selected based on their leadership, citizenship, and service.  The $1,000 scholarship can be used for any part of the student’s 2019-2020 school year tuition, books, or fees.
