2016 Student-View Scholarship Program

The 2016 Student-View Scholarship program is offering $11,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college, or career school. The program includes: One $4,000 scholarship; two $1,000 scholarships; ten $500 scholarships.

To apply, simply log on to www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area. The scholarship will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed applications. The scholarship winner will be announced in May.

There is no minimum SAT/ACT to apply. The scholarship deadline is April 22, 2016.

Jim Harrell Poetry Scholarship Awards

First place will receive a $2000 scholarship; Second place will receive a $1000 scholarship. The award is a one-time scholarship and is non-renewable.

Contest Guidelines:

  • The competition is open to any high school senior in the state of Alabama planning to enroll at the University of Montevallo.
  • All entries must be original and unpublished.
  • Entries will be judged off-campus by professionals in the field. Criteria include creativity, originality, imagery, artistic quality, and mastery of poetic expression.
  • Must be postmarked by February 1. No late entries will be accepted.

College Counts Scholarship

Eligibility requirements:
Applicant must be a high school senior, a U.S. citizen, & an Alabama resident. Applicant must demonstrate financial need, have a minimum 2.75 GPA and have an ACT score of 26 or BELOW. Greater Alabama Youth Leadership Development Program

Any junior or senior interested in applying for the Greater Alabama Council Youth Leadership Development Program should pick up an application in the Counseling Office. This program gives students the opportunity to build leadership skills by participating in small group meetings and community service projects. Participants also have the opportunity to earn scholarships for their service in the program.
