Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union Scholarship

Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union will be awarding fourteen $1,000 scholarships and one $2,000 scholarship to graduating high school members planning to pursue post-secondary education in the fall of 2019.  The credit union is committed to improving the communities we serve by funding scholarships to incent the best and brightest students to pursue their education goals at the institutions of their choosing.

The scholarships will be awarded to students who are Coosa Pines FCU members and who exemplify credit union values of personal and civic responsibility through their grades, extracurricular activities, essay responses, letter(s) of recommendation, and/or community service.

The deadline for application is Friday, April, 5, 2019.

2019 Student-View Scholarship Program

The 2019 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $11,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community junior college or career school.

The program includes:  One $4,000 scholarship, Two $1,000 scholarships, and Ten $500 scholarships.

  • No minimum SAT/ACT score or grade point average
  • No essay required
  • No lengthy application forms
  • No application fees

EXECUTIVE WOMEN INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Executive Women International-Birmingham Chapter is pleased to announce that the 2019 Scholarship Program, EWISP, is now open to all students to complete their applications online.

Deadline for all submissions is Friday, March 22, 2019 at 5:00 PM CST.

EWISP typically awards three scholarships in the amounts of $5,000,  $3,000 and $2,000.

Alabama STEM Education EXPOSE

The Alabama STEM Education Program  will be hosting the first STEM Expose on Saturday May 4, 2019.

Alfa Foundation Scholarship Program

Alfa Foundation Scholarship Program

High school seniors and college students should act quickly to apply for thousands of dollars in scholarship money through two programs. Jan. 31 is the deadline to apply for both the Alfa Foundation Scholarship Program and the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation (AFAF) Program.

In its sixth year, the Alfa Foundation Scholarship Program will award 100 scholarships worth $1,000 to students studying at an Alabama college, university or technical school. Applicants must be http://alfafarmers.org/about/alfa-membership-signup

Through the AFAF Scholarship Program, one student per county may be awarded a $1,750 scholarship. To apply, the student must be seeking an agriculture- or forestry-related degree from Auburn University or Alabama A&M University.

While a recent report shows a small percentage of students consider studying agriculture or forestry, those jobs are in high demand. More than 20,000 agriculture-related jobs go unfilled each year, according to a recent job report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The A.L. Bratcher Scholarship is for high school seniors who will be enrolled or plan to be enrolled in an undergraduate course of study during the 2019-2020 academic school year at an accredited 2-or 4-year college, university, or vocational-technical college in the United States.

Deadline for the A.L. Bratcher Scholarship is March 15, 2019.

Students must meet the following criteria to be nominated by their counselor:

  • Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA after grades have posted for their first semester of the student’s senior year;
  • Must be an U.S. citizen or permanent resident status;
  • Must have completed an admission application to Jefferson State for Fall 2019 semester.
  • Complete a 2019-2020 FAFSA for Jefferson State.  JSCC school code is 001022.

Students interested should submit a typed, two-page essay on the topic “What are your career goals, and how will earning a college degree from JSCC help achieve those goals?”  to the guidance office no later than May 1, 2019.

Jefferson State-Academic Scholarship

35 high school academic, full-tuition and fees scholarships will be awarded to outstanding high school seniors who plan to enroll beginning Fall 2019.  The scholarships may be renewed for one additional year provided the student earns a total of 24 credit hours and maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPS at the completion of the spring 2020 semester.

A complete application packet must be submitted to the financial aid office or postmarked no later than March 1, 2019.  Attached is a flyer listing the criteria that a student must meet in order to apply for the scholarship.

Students may visit http://www.jeffersonstate.edu/financial-aid/scholarships/ to obtain a 2019-2020 High School Academic Scholarship application.

All scholarship recipients will be required to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) at http://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa for the 2019-2020 school year.  Jefferson State’s school code is 001022.

As part of the Ambassador Scholarship, the JSCC Ambassadors serve as the official hosts and hostesses for campus events.  JSCC is looking for students who display leadership skills, have servant hearts, and are self-motivated.
