Local Scholarship Application
The local scholarship application is now available in my office. The application and supporting documents should be turned in by April 4th, 2016.
SCEA Scholarship
Each year Shelby County Education Association awards a select number of scholarships to members and to senior students of members. To be considered, SCEA members in good standing must complete the appropriate form and submit all required materials on or before the March 10 deadline.

Psi Xi Omega AKA Sorority Scholarship
AKA is proud to announce the availability of two $1000 scholarships for fall 2016. To qualify, the applicant must:
Be an African American female graduating from a Shelby County high school

- February 2016 SP Scholarship – $10,000 – 10 Awards (Deadline: February 29, 2016)
Student Eligibility:
Students must be attending an accredited post-secondary institution by the fall of 2016 at the latest and must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a program that is at least two years in length.

- Louie Family Foundation Scholarships – $4,000 – 25 Awards (Deadline: March 31, 2016)
Student Eligibility:
The Kim and Harold Louie Family Foundation anticipates awarding approximately $100,000 in scholarships in 2016. This scholarship is for high school seniors and students who will be attending a college or university in the United States as a freshman during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Herb Hanes – Bill Sparks Scholarship
The Ensley High School Alumni Association is receiving applications for the Herb Hanes – Bill Sparks Scholarship. The $2,500 scholarship will be paid to any Alabama college or university of the winner’s choice to be used for tuition and books. To qualify for the scholarship, the senior applicant must have:
- Participated in varsity athletics or in an athletic related activity (cheerleader, trainer, dance team, etc.) at a Jefferson or Shelby County high school.
- Been accepted into a 4 year Alabama college or university.
- Completed all required forms.
The deadline for receiving applications is April 20, 2016.

ACT Prep Camp
The University of Montevallo is offering a summer camp to help students prep for the ACT. This is a terrific opportunity to learn about the ACT and how to score well. Spots are very limited so if you are interested, sign up ASAP . See the attachment below for more information.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Scholarship
To apply for the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority scholarship, you must have a 3.0 GPA, 20 ACT or 910 SAT, community involvement, leadership skills, and communication skills. You may pick up an application from Mrs. Payne or download one from www.birminghamdst.org.

The Revis Memorial Scholarship
The Wilsonville Civitan Club awards the Revis Memorial Scholarship (formerly the Mary L. Revis Scholarship), and is proud to announce that through fundraising events and the generosity of our community, we are able to increase our scholarship to $650!
