DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Happy Birthday: Xavier Perez

*Announcements:

*Tonight will be Open House from 5:30-7:30pm.  Remind your parents to attend.  You should write down your schedule and give your parents a copy of your schedule. The office will not be printing schedules tonight.

*Students who did not return signed Solar Eclipse forms will remain in the library when the other students go outside.

*We will begin testing with Scantron Performance Series starting tomorrow in your ELA and Math classes.  You cannot bring cell phones or smart watches into the testing center.  Please do not be absent this week as all students must test.

*Students remember to turn in your signed Code of Conduct forms to your 4th period teacher.  You will receive silent lunch until you bring in your form.

*Please turn in box tops to the office. If you turn in 10 box tops, you will receive two tardy to class passes.

*Friday we will be on activity schedule and you will report after 7th period to your LEAD teacher.

Happy Birthday: Saturday to Madison Reasor

*Announcements:

*There will be a meet and greet for all students who are new to Montevallo Middle School (this does not include 6th graders who attended MES) today at 1pm in the library. You will get a chance to talk with the Ambassadors and enjoy soda and cookies.  Teachers will receive an email with the list of the new students.

*Monday night will be Open House from 5:30-7:30pm.  Remind your parents to attend.

*Please return your Solar Eclipse Viewing Forms to your 4th period teacher by today. Each student will receive his or her eclipse glasses on Monday before viewing the Eclipse during 5th & 6th period.  If you do not bring back a signed form, you will remain in the building during the Eclipse.

Weekly Announcements

*MMS Open House will be on Monday, August 21st, from 5:30-7:00pm. You will be able to meet your child’s teachers and follow their schedule. Your child should bring home a copy of their schedule to you on Monday.

*On Monday, August 21st, MMS students will be able to watch the Solar Eclipse with specialty glasses that MMS purchased.  All students must return their permission form by Friday in order to view the Eclipse.  Students with unreturned permission slips and students, whose parents opt their children out of the event, will stay in the building during the Eclipse.

*Saturday will be the MMS Football Jamboree in Columbiana at the Shelby County High School Stadium. The first game begins at 9:30am.

*7th and 8th graders who want to participate in JUNA (Junior United Nations Assembly) need to turn in their permission slips to Mrs. Guraya asap and the meetings will be held on Wednesdays after school until 4:30pm.

*Students must turn in their code of conduct forms to their 4th period teachers or they will have silent lunch for every day they do not bring back the form.

*MMS is collecting box tops.  For every 10 box tops that your child brings in, he or she will receive two tardy to class passes.

*All students will need to purchase lockers.  Students will not be allowed to share lockers nor will they be able to carry backpacks to classes.

*Any 7th or 8th grader interested in joining Mrs. Bishop’s FCCLA COT should meet Friday morning in her classroom at 7:15.  You may bring your breakfast.  If you are unable to meet at that time, please see her for important paperwork.
