Black History Fact for Today: Martin Luther King, Jr., original name Michael King, Jr., (born January 15, 1929, died April 4, 1968), was a Baptist minister and social activist who led the civil rights movement in the United States from the mid-1950s until his death by assassination in 1968. His leadership was fundamental to that movement’s success in ending the legal segregation of African Americans in the South and other parts of the United States.
As Black History Month comes to a close, let’s share what we’ve learned and continue to Self-educate ourselves, as well as celebrate the contributions made by Black Americans. In the words of an Old African Proverb, “Each One Teach One Until All Are Taught”.

- High School Cheer Tryouts are March 10-13 for 8th grade students who are interested in cheering in high school. Mandatory Parent Meeting is March 1st @ 6:00PM. Packets are in the office.
- Volleyball tryouts are the first week of April and basketball the second week of April! There will be a parent meeting for both volleyball and basketball on Wednesday the 12th in the gym at 5pm
- We want to remind everyone that we are celebrating National Heart Month on tomorrow, March 1st during PE classes. We still have online forms for those that want to make online contributions but this needs to be done by Friday, March 3. If paying by check, Please make the check out to Kids Heart Challenge OR The American Heart Association. We will also take cash up until Friday.
