Daily Announcements 11/08/2018

*Announcements:

* Tomorrow will be LEAD.

* Progress Reports will go home tomorrow.

*Tonight’s Basketball game is an away game in Columbiana.

*8th grade Scholar’s Bowl Team will meet every morning Mon-Thur in Lab 28 from 7:00-7:30 am starting next week, Nov 12th.  6th and 7th Grade Scholars Bowl will meet on Wednesdays after school.

*Soccer conditioning is cancelled for this week.  There will be a mandatory parent meeting for soccer players on Thursday, November 15th at 5pm. See Coach Thomas for more information.

*Tomorrow is the last day to turn in any canned goods or toiletry items for Oak Mountain Missions.

*As a fundraiser, MMS will be selling Priester’s Pecans. Order forms went home last Friday. Money and order forms are due on November 26th.

*There will be no school on Monday November 12th in observance of Veteran’s Day.

*The playoff game at the high school tomorrow night is “Black Out Andulusia”. Students are encouraged to wear black. In order to avoid long lines, the AHSAA has chosen to make tickets available online through GoFan for this week’s game at http://gofan.us/d17fb9

*Announcements:

* This Friday will be LEAD and Progress Reports will go home on Friday.

*Today the Band and Choir will be on a field trip.

*Tomorrow will be Pajama Day. Instead of bringing $2.00, students must bring 3 canned or boxed food items or toiletry items for the Oak Mountain Mission in order to wear sweats or pajamas. Please bring your items to Mrs. Day’s classroom on place in the bins around the school. Put your name on the donation bag. The individual with the most donations will win a slushie and the grade level with the most will get open seating at lunch.

*CONGRATULATIONS to both BULLDOG teams for the awesome wins last night.  If you didn’t get to the games, you missed some great action.  The girls pulled out a close victory 28 to 26.  Teasia Purnell and Paige Johnson led the team with points with 7 each and Hannah Locks contributed 6 and both Camille Holmes and Siara Kennedy chipped in 4 each for a total team win.

The boys pulled out an OUTSTANDING overtime victory 34-24.The Bulldogs will play again AWAY at Columbiana on Thursday.  Way to go DAWGS!!!

* Tonight is Support the MMS Choir at Zaxby’s night from 4-8pm. A portion of the profits go to support the MMS choir so eat dinner at Zaxby’s in Calera.

*Teachers there is a faculty meeting after school today.

 *Congratulations to the students of the week: Cole Wilson and Grey Williams. They were nominated by Nurse Beneke and Mrs. Little. The boys demonstrated the character trait of compassion when they showed understanding and empathy for another student in a time of crisis.

*The BETA Club Induction Ceremony will be this morning at 8:15am. Students please be on your best behavior during the assembly as there will be many parents in the building and this is a solemn event not a pep rally.
