*African American History Spotlight for the Day: Did you know that the first African American woman inventor to get a patent was Sarah Goode?  She invented a fold up bed that when placed up against the wall created a folding desk.  The patent for her invention was in 1885.

  • Happy Birthday: Miranda Martin and Breana Jenkins
  • Announcements:

 *Today after school will be the Mardis Gras Dance from 3-5pm. The cost will be $5.00.  You must have a ride home at 5pm if you plan on staying after school.  Wait in your 7th period classes until you are called to the cafeteria by Mrs. Lewis.  If you are not staying for the dance and ride a late bus, you will stay in the gym for tomorrow only.

*There will be no school on Monday in observance of President’s Day

*There will be a Mandatory parent meeting tomorrow night Friday, February 12th at 6 PM in the PAC at the High School for any 8th grade girl interested in cheerleading next year.  You will pick up your packets then.

* If you need an application packet to the new Teen Center, they are in the front office.

*Coupon Books are still on sale for $20.00 until next week.

*There will be a soccer game tonight against Helena in Helena.  The girls play at 5 and the boys at 7

*There is a mandatory parent meeting for those interested in MMS cheerleading on Monday, February 22 at 5:00 PM in the media center.  Registration packets will be available for pick-up that night.
