DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Announcements:

*MMS tennis tryouts will be at the city courts by Parnell library today and tomorrow from 3-5 for 7th and 8th grade girls and boys.  You must have an MMS consent form and current medical physical on file.  Please see Coach Jett for details or if you need any paperwork.

*Any 8th grade student interested in entering the Science Fair at UAB this year needs to meet with Mrs. Guraya in the media center at the beginning of 4th period today.

*There will be a home football game tomorrow night at 5:30pm.

*Scholar’s Bowl tryouts for 7th and 8th grade will be Wednesday during 4th period with Mrs. Lusco.  If you make the team, the practices will be after school one day a week until February.

*The Honor Roll Party will be this Thursday.

*Friday will be LEAD and we will be on an activity schedule.

*Soccer packets are due to Mrs. Thomas by the next COT.  Tryouts will be in Nov.  See Mrs. Thomas if you have not received a packet and plan to tryout.

*The flu vaccine will be given on Friday to students who brought back their permission slips.

*There will be a Future Troubadour’s Camp (for Color Guard, Dance Line, or Marching Band Members) for grades K-8th on Oct 23rd, 24th, 25th from 3:30-5:30 at MHS. The cost is $20.  The deadline to register is October 17th.  There will be an interest meeting on Thursday, October 17th at 6pm at the MHS Performing Arts Center.  See Mrs. Underwood for more details.

*The University of Montevallo is offering a Junior Tennis Sunday Funday on Nov. 5th, from 1-3 and the cost is FREE!  Please see Coach Jett for a brochure or you must call 512-689-7212 to reserve a spot in the clinic.

*Congratulations to the student of the week: Anthony McMillian. He was nominated by Mr. Banks.  Mr. Banks stated that Anthony demonstrated the character traits of service and compassion.  When Mr. Banks was selling candy for Choir, Anthony would buy several and told Mr. Banks to share with students who could not afford the candy.
