DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Announcements:
*We are on a regular schedule today.
*The physical field trip will be today.

*8th grade Scholar’s Bowl will practice on Monday after school.

*7th Grade Math Team will practice next Wednesday after school.

*7th Grade Scholar’s Bowl will practice after school on Tuesday.

*Anyone interested in submitting work for consideration for the Shelby County Literary Magazine needs to have it typed and submitted to Ms. Moore by the 31st of January. It can be short stories, essays, or poems

*The Montevallo Day of Pageants will be held Saturday, Feb. 3. If you are interested in becoming the next Junior Miss Montevallo please come by the office and get an entry form. All entry forms and payments must be turned in by Friday, Jan. 26th. All girls in grades 6-8 may participate.

*Tennis practice will begin next week from 3:00 – 4:30. Practices will be every Monday and Wednesday at the city courts across from the library. Students must have permission to ride the bus to be dropped off at MES.

*8th graders: If you want to order the Class Panoramic Picture that was taken on Friday, you must mail in your order envelope by Saturday. Don’t miss out as this is your only chance to order. If you need another form, there are a few in the office.

*Yearbooks are on sale this month for $25.00. After that, they increase to $30.00. In May they become $35.00 so order your book now. You can bring the form and money to Mrs. Harding. The order form went out with report cards or there are extras in the office.

*The 2018-2019 MMS Cheerleading Try-outs Clinic will be on March 12-15 @ MHS from 3:00-5:00. Try-outs will be on Friday, March 16 @ MHS 3:00. Please see Mrs. Bishop for the registration packet. There will be a parent interest meeting Tuesday, February 27th at 5:30 in the Media Center.

*The 20th Annual Heart of Dixie Pageant and Most Photogenic Contest will be held on February 24th at Jemison High School. Scholarships will be awarded to the winners. Girls ages 0-21 are invited to participate. If you are interested in participating in this pageant, there are registration forms in the front office. The deadline to turn in the forms is February 7th.

*Congratulations to the students of the week: TaDarrius Conner and Kial Cottingham. They were nominated by Mrs. Lewis. They exhibited the character trait of service. Both boys volunteered to sweep the entire cafeteria after break last Friday.

*Congrats to Baylen Key for placing 1st individual trophy at the MLK Scholstic chess tournament held at Pelham Park Middle School yesterday! Baylen won all of his 5 rounds of chess including middle and high school students from around the state. Way to go Baylen!

*Battle of the Books practice will be Monday after school 3:15-4:45. Be sure your parents can pick you up at the side door at 4:45.
