*Character Education Theme for the Week: African American History Spotlight: Dr. Condeleeza Rice was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1954.  She grew up in the midst of the Civil Rights Era and faced discrimination personally.  Dr. Rice received her PhD in political science and later became the first African American female Secretary of State under President George Bush.  Today Condi Rice is a professor at Stanford and serves on the College Football Playoff Committee.

*Announcements:

*There will be no school this Friday for students. However, there will be school on Monday.

*ANY ARCERY MEMBER THAT WANTS TO GO TO THE TOURNAMENT MUST HAVE THE $10 PAID TO COACH JETT BY TOMMOTOW OR YOU CAN’T ATTEND THE TOURNAMENT.

  • Coupon Brochures Sale starts February 14th through February 28th
  • Teachers you will receive one coupon brochure as an example to show students.
  • Information will be given out by your 4th period Teacher.
  • The 4th period that sells the most coupon brochures will receive a pizza party during 4th
  • Teachers, for every book you buy or sell you will receive a JEAN Sticker and the teacher that sells the most will get an extra duty free lunch day for the month of May.
  • Students who sell one brochure will receive a spirit band bracelet and if they sell 3 books, they will receive a day of free time in the gym (or if it’s sunny it will be free time outside, this will be during 4th

*Would you like to be a majorette, on the danceline, or on the colorguard? Auxiliary (Majorettes, Danceline, Colorguard) clinics are held Feb. 21st – March 1st, Try-outs will be on March 2nd.

*Yearbooks are on sale today for $30.00.

*The 2018-2019 MMS Cheerleading Try-outs Clinic will be on March 12-15 @ MHS from 3:00-5:00. Try-outs will be on Friday, March 16 @ MHS 3:00.  Please see Mrs. Bishop for the registration packet.  There will be a parent interest meeting Tuesday, February 27th at 5:30 in the Media Center.
