Daily Announcement 01/07/2019

*Birthdays: Abbigail Bryant and Aaron Gallegos

 *Announcements:

* This Friday will be break so don’t have any tardies or silent lunches.

*Anyone interested in getting a sports physical should get a permission form from Coach Horton or Coach Jett and return it with the $10 fee by tomorrow.  Only the first 100 students to return forms and money will be guaranteed a spot on the bus.  The trip will take place on Friday, Jan.18 at Calera High.  All students that went to Lemak last year will have an expired physical in a few weeks and will no longer be eligible to participate or try-out unless you update your physical.   See PE coaches with any questions.

*Battle of the Books will have our first meeting on Tuesday, January 8th after school until 3:45.  We will meet every Tuesday for 9 weeks until our county competition in March.  If you attended the Battle of the Books interest meeting in November and have already completed reading at least ONE of the three books,  you can attend the first meeting.   You must have a ride to come pick you up promptly at 3:45 at the side bus door

*Report cards will go home tomorrow.

*There will be a golf interest meeting tomorrow at 2:35 in Mrs. Stallworth’s room. This meeting is only for the students who signed up for golf during PE.

*6th and 7th grade Scholars Bowl will practice on Wednesday after school.

*LOT will be on a field trip on Wednesday and the Honor Roll Party will be on Thursday.

*There will be no soccer conditioning this week.  Soccer schedules will be handed out soon.

*Yearbooks are now on sale for $25.00 during the month of January. Please bring cash or checks made out to MMS to Mrs. Harding. In February, the price will increase to $30.00.

*Permission slips to sell Candy Bars will go home with your report card. For every box you sell, you will get 2 tardy to class passes. The Top 3 sellers will receive an I- Tunes Gift Card.

*Congratulations to the student of the week: Arianna Jones.  She was nominated by Mrs. Lewis.  Mrs. Lewis states that Arianna demonstrated the character traits of compassion and helpfulness when she stopped and helped a student whose tray was spilled in the cafeteria.

*The Montevallo Day of Pageants will be held Saturday, Feb. 2.  If you are interested in becoming the next Junior Miss Montevallo please come by the office and get an entry form.  All entry forms and payments must be turned in by Friday, Jan. 25th. All girls in grades 6-8 may participate.
