*Congratulations to the Student of the Week: Kam’ron Goins.  He was nominated by Mrs. Snyder, Mrs. Nelson, and Mrs. Huckabaa. All three teachers stated that Kam’ron had excellent performance in the 2018 MMS Homecoming game. Kam’ron played on both the offensive team as QB and also on the defensive team. Kam’ron scored three touchdowns for MMS. Mrs. Snyder added that Kamron had a lot of team spirit.  Mrs. Huckabaa states that Kam’ron has worked really hard to improve his grade in her class and is working to be a positive example to his teammates.

*Today is the last days to bring in items for the Hurricane Florence Relief Project. If you bring in 5 items or more (canned goods, etc.) – you will receive a FREE Slushie during the homecoming dance next week! A FREE slushie! This will be the only way to get one because they will not be sold – just given to those who donate! Bring your non-perishable food items, bottled water, or cleaning supplies today or tomorrow for this reward!  Be sure to write your name and grade on the items you bring so it counts in the Open Seating contest and for a free Slushie. The grade bringing in the most items will get open seating at lunch. Remember, Friday is the last day to bring your items in. Our partners will be loading a truck and heading to North Carolina this weekend.

*We are so proud of our Lady Dawgs as they capped off their HOME season with a 7th grade victory on Monday against Calera and the 8th grade defeated Jemison last night. The 8th grade girls defeated the panthers 25-23 then 25-21.  Camille Holmes was perfect on serves with 9 and Kailey Boyd served 10 for 13.  Teasia Purnell led attacks with 3 and Paige Johnson and Hannah Locks both contributed 2.

In the 7th grade gave vs. Calera  Abigail Baugh led the team with  16 out of 17 serves and 5 ACES and Carter Lawley served 8 out of 11.  Carter Lawley also put away 2 KILLS. Both teams will take on Columbiana in their last game of the season on Thursday AWAY.
