*Announcements:

*This Friday will be LEAD/ADVISORY.  Make sure you know whose LEAD group that you are in.  It was on your schedule listed as Advisory.  6^th Graders will meet with their 4^th period teachers for LEAD.  We will be on an activity schedule.

*Cross Country will begin practice on Monday until 4pm. Congratulations to the following team members:Melani Gutierrez,Mariah Honeycutt, Mercadees Lilly,Trey Adams,Lester Blevins,Devin Colbert,Braden Douglas, Carlos Gallo, Tre’von Gentry,Zander Honeycutt, Cristian Leon,Jonathan Leon, Demontre Lilly,Timothy Waters, Christian Tolbert and Grey Williams.

*4^th period you will receive fundraiser packets to begin selling Bulldog T Shirts. The first 3 students to return their order envelope will receive 3 items at break of their choice and two extra tardy to class passes. Any student that turns in an order will receive two tardy to class passes.

*State testing will begin next week for students.  Tuesday will be 6^th and 7^th grade math. Wednesday will be 6^th and 7^th grade reading.  8^th grade and 7^th grade science will test the following week. There will be no cell phones or smart watches allowed in the testing rooms.

*Bulldog Tatoos are on sale in the office for 50 cents each.

*For every 10 Box Tops that you turn into the office, you will receive two tardy to class passes so start saving the box tops off of your food boxes and turn them into the office.

*Teachers don’t forget test training Monday after school in the Library. Also don’t forget your COTS proposals are due next Friday.

*Soccer Tryout Packets are due to Mrs. Thomas today. All GIRLS trying out for soccer, meet in Mrs. Thomas’ classroom at 11:45 today (At the End of 4th).

*The LOT students will be on a field trip today.

*The Open House and Meet Your Teachers Night will be tonight from 5:30-7:00. Students do not need to come but encourage your parents to attend. You should give your parents a copy of your schedule before they come.

*Cross Country will not try out today because of the Open House.  The final day to tryout and participate is tomorrow after school.

*Soccer Tryout Packets are due to Mrs. Thomas on Wednesday.

*Congratulations to the students of the week: Lakian Lutz and Kennedy Reasor.  They were nominated by Mrs. L.  Mrs. L states that these two students have demonstrated caring and have been helpful in class to a peer without being prompted by an adult.  They make sure the peer student has the class materials needed to be successful.

*Any student who wants to purchase a PE uniform needs to get the money to Coach Horton or Coach Jett by today. Today will be the last day to order uniforms this year.  The tops are $12.50 and the bottoms are $12.50 for a total of $25.

*If you did not purchase a locker, you must purchase one by today. After today if you do not have a locker, you will not be able to leave your backpack in the office, you will have to carry all of your books to and from school each day. There is no sharing of lockers.

*There will be an interest meeting for Cross Country today near the end of 4^th period for all students interested in Cross Country. Cross Country tryouts will be held on Wednesday and Thursday this week after school from 3-4pm for interested 7^th and 8^th graders. See Ms. Moore for more details.

*The Open House and Meet Your Teachers Night will be on Monday August 20^th from 5:30-7:30.

*Announcements:

*There will be a soccer interest meeting at the end of 4th period today in Mrs. Thomas’s computer lab. Only 7th and 8th graders who are interested in trying out for the soccer team should attend this meeting.
