- Today is the last day for tryouts for girls soccer. Boys soccer tryouts will be held on October 11th and 12th. Dragonfly account must be completed, if you have any questions, please see Ms. Martinez or Mrs. Serrano
- Interest Meeting for 6th Grade Scholars Bowl Team is Today October 4th from 3:30-4:00 in Ms. T Jackson’s Room.
- Interest Meeting for Coding Club is Thursday October 6th from 3:30-4:00 in Ms. T. Jackson’s Room. Please make sure your rides are aware that pick-up time is at 4:00.

- How does a computer know if you are a human or not? Thanks to the CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing Test to tell Computers and Humans Apart). The system was invented by a Guatemalan professor Luis von Ahn, who is also considered the inventor of crowdsourcing. He co-founded Duolingo as well.
- Homecoming Week is next week oct. 11th-14th, students are out on Monday October 11th!!!!

- Friday: School Spirit, Dress in Orange and Blue
- The details are also provided to faculty on our shared drive. We encourage everyone to participate in our dress-up days. We will have a pep-rally on Thursday, Oct 13th for teachers and students only and our school dance will be on Friday, Oct 14th. Please provide a 5 dollar donation if you would like to attend. The attire is regular school day clothing. Snacks will be sold.

- The Faculty/Staff of the Month results are below. Wanda Young-Lowe is this month’s winner!
- As a science teacher, Dr. Young-Lowe’s goal is to transform students into scientific thinkers. Her approach stems from the belief that all students can and will learn. She creates a mutually respectful, nonjudgmental learning environment where making errors is okay and results in improved learning and evidence based practices. She uses strategies and approaches that engage yet challenge students’ level of thinking which leads them to see things differently, and develop behaviors and make decisions that will benefit them and their community.
