*Announcements:

*There is a home basketball game tonight starting at 5pm against Columbiana.

*Tonight is the MMS Band Christmas Concert at 7pm at the MHS Performing Arts Center.

*Archery try-outs will be right after school today in the lunchroom until 4pm.  This is by invitation only.   See Coach Jett or Horton if you have any questions.

* Tennis try-outs for 7th and 8th grade boys and girls will be on Wednesday, December 13 and Thursday December 14 at the city courts right after school until 5pm.  See Coach Jett with questions.  You must have a note to ride a bus to get off at MES to attend try-outs unless you ride a car.

*Next Friday we will be having a Christmas Dance during school from 9am-11am.  The cost will be $5.00.  Students not attending the dance will remain in classrooms.  Door prizes will be drawn for all those who attend.  Prizes include Snack Baskets and Coupon Books that contain free tardy to class passes, no dress out for PE etc. The dance will be a sock hop as no shoes will be allowed on the gym floor.

*Today and Wednesday the MMS library will be selling books and coloring books for $5.00 each. Cash or checks will be accepted made out to Usborne Books.

*Archery try-out day will be right after school on Thursday, Dec. 8 in the lunchroom until 4pm.  This is by invitation only.   See Coach Jett or Horton if you have any questions.

Happy Birthday:

*Current MJCC (Montevallo Junior City Council) middle school members would like to hear ideas from students. If you have an idea that you would like to propose to the Junior Council, please place your thought in the decorated box in the office and library with your name, grade, and idea. These boxes will be checked weekly, at the end of every Friday. We would also like to invite anyone who wants to come to our next meeting on Wednesday, December 7 at the Montevallo city hall at 5:15.

* The next student institute field trip will be this Friday December 2nd. Students involved will need to get with their teachers and get any make up work that they may need for that day.

*Congratulations to the student of the week: Kavounte Britton.  He was nominated by Coach Jett.  Coach Jett states that he stayed after class to pick up a mat that fell off the stage while all the other students just walked by it and ignored it.

*We would like to welcome our newest employee, Mrs. Jones.  She will be mostly working with the 6th grade team.
