*The Honor Roll Party will be today.

*There will be no soccer conditioning this week.  Soccer schedules will be handed out soon.

*Yearbooks are now on sale for $25.00 during the month of January. Please bring cash or checks made out to MMS to Mrs. Harding. In February, the price will increase to $30.00.

*The Montevallo Day of Pageants will be held Saturday, Feb. 2.  If you are interested in becoming the next Junior Miss Montevallo please come by the office and get an entry form.  All entry forms and payments must be turned in by Friday, Jan. 25th. All girls in grades 6-8 may participate.

*Permission slips to sell Candy Bars went home with your report card. You must turn in a permission slip in order to sell the candy. For every box you sell, you will get 2 tardy to class passes. The Top 3 sellers will receive an I- Tunes Gift Card.

*This Saturday from 11:30-8pm please support the MHS Parent Teacher Organization by dining at Zapapan’s in Montevallo.

*The 8th grade parent night at Montevallo High School will be on Wednesday, January 30th, at 6pm.

*There will be a soccer parent meeting on Monday, January 14th, at 6pm in the PAC at MHS.

*6th and 7th grade Scholars Bowl will practice today after school.

*LOT will be on a field trip today. Wrestling will have a match after school today.

*Anyone interested in getting a sports physical should get a permission form from Coach Horton or Coach Jett and return it with the $10 fee by tomorrow.  Only the first 100 students to return forms and money will be guaranteed a spot on the bus.  The trip will take place on Friday, Jan.18 at Calera High.  All students that went to Lemak last year will have an expired physical in a few weeks and will no longer be eligible to participate or try-out unless you update your physical.   See PE coaches with any questions.

*Battle of the Books will have our first meeting on Tuesday, January 8th after school until 3:45.  We will meet every Tuesday for 9 weeks until our county competition in March.  If you attended the Battle of the Books interest meeting in November and have already completed reading at least ONE of the three books,  you can attend the first meeting.   You must have a ride to come pick you up promptly at 3:45 at the side bus door

*Report cards will go home tomorrow.

*There will be a golf interest meeting tomorrow at 2:35 in Mrs. Stallworth’s room. This meeting is only for the students who signed up for golf during PE.

*Congratulations to the student of the week: Arianna Jones.  She was nominated by Mrs. Lewis.  Mrs. Lewis states that Arianna demonstrated the character traits of compassion and helpfulness when she stopped and helped a student whose tray was spilled in the cafeteria.

* Today will be an early release at 12:47.

*The Christmas Dance will be this morning. You must have $5.00 to attend. Students must wear socks or sneakers to the dance as to not scratch the gym floor. Students not attending the dance will go to the library. After the dance, students will go to their COTS for lunch and Christmas parties. You will be dismissed from your COTS group.

*Today is the last day of the 9 weeks.  You will get your report cards on January 8th.

YEAH – WE DID IT!!!  THE LADY DAWGS WENT UNDEFEATED THIS YEAR – WAY TO GO GIRLS!  Teasia Purnell played an AWESOME game putting in 21 points.  Siara Kennedy contributed 5, Hannah Locks 3 and Camille Holmes 2 as they defeated the wildcats 31-18.  Kudos to Aliesjha Silas and Camille Holmes for their outstanding defense and Paige Johnson for 10 assists on the night.  All of the 8th grade girls will be moving up to play varsity this year, so go check them out at MHS.  An UNDEFEATED t-shirt order will be placed in January when we return from break. All faculty/staff and students interested in purchasing a shirt or hoodie, please see Coach Jett.

Congratulations also to the boys for an 8 & 2 season and winning last night 45-36.

She’s a very respectful and caring student to her peers and teachers. This morning, she paid it forward for another student’s hat day.
