 *Announcements:

*The Scholastic Book Fair ends today.

*Tryouts for Softball will begin the week of October 17-20th  from 6-8pm at Orr Park.  Girls must have completed a tryout packet and turned them into Coach Jett by October 13th as well as a current physical on file.

*Soccer conditioning will begin Wednesday October 12th.  You must have a current physical and consent form to participate.

*School pictures are due back by Wednesday, October 12th.

*Today is the last day of the 9 weeks.

*Today we are on break schedule.  Check with your 4th period teacher to see if you have break.

*There will be no school on Monday, but the Montevallo Teen Center will be open that day.

*The office will be sending in Box Tops the first of November so turn in your box tops if you have them.

*Montevallo High School’s Homecoming Game is tonight.

*Report cards will go home next Friday.

*The Scholastic Book Fair is this week.  Today through Friday, you may come back to the library when your ELA Teacher gives you permission.   You must show them your cash or a check made out to Montevallo Middle before they let you come to the library.

*Tryouts for Softball will begin the week of October 17-20th  from 6-8pm at Orr Park.  Girls must have completed a tryout packet and turned them into Coach Jett by October 13th as well as a current physical on file.

 *Announcements:

*The Scholastic Book Fair is this week.  You will come to the Book Fair today with your ELA teacher.  This isn’t a preview day, we are actually selling books beginning today.  Then, tomorrow through Friday, you may come back to the library when your ELA Teacher gives you permission.   You must show them your cash or a check made out to Montevallo Middle before they let you come to the library.

 

* Tomorrow will be Pink Out Day where you will wear pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  We will have a home football game tomorrow night at 6pm.

*Friday is the last day of the nine weeks so you must get all of your make up work turned into your teachers this week.  Report cards will go home next Friday.

*Teachers don’t forget the faculty meeting after school today in the library.

*There will be no school on Monday, October 10th but the Montevallo Teen Center will be open that day.

*Congratulations to the athlete of the month for August-Hayden Dennis

*Congratulations to the student of the week: Wesley Burdett.  He was nominated by Mrs. Monk of the PTO and Mrs. Little.  Wesley demonstrated the character traits of service and cooperation when he helped the PTO carry in all of the decorations for the dance without being asked.

*Announcements:

*COTS will be tomorrow.  If you do not have all of your schoolwork done, you will not be allowed to attend COTS and will attend intervention COTS instead.

*The LOT students will be on a field trip today.

The Scholastic Book Fair is next week.  You will come to the bookfair on Monday, Oct. 3rd with your ELA teacher.  This isn’t a preview day, we are actually selling books beginning on Monday.  Then, Tuesday through Friday, you may come back to the library when your ELA Teacher gives you permission.   You must show them your cash or a check made out to Montevallo Middle before they let you come to the library.

You will be shown a preview video in your 4th period class some day this week.   You will also get a flier on Friday for you to take home to your parent or guardian.  You may circle the books you’re interested in to determine how much money to bring. See you at the book fair!

*Volleyball will have home games tonight at 5 and 6.  You may attend free if you bring two canned goods and are with a paying adult.

*All student council members need to meet with Mr. Weeks tomorrow morning after announcements.

*Tomorrow is the Homecoming Game.  Wear your orange and blue and Montevallo spirit clothes. The game begins at 6pm and the team is playing Vincent.

*Tomorrow we will be on an Activity schedule for the Pep Rally.

*Tomorrow is Athletic Day where you can wear Athletic clothes (shorts and sweats) to school for $2.00 to benefit the MMS PTO.

*If you are not caught up on all of your schoolwork, you will not attend the Pep Rally tomorrow.

*The Volleyball team will play tonight in Thorsby  at 5:30pm.

*Congratulations to the student of the week: Timothy Waters.  He was nominated by Mrs. Harding.  Mrs. Harding states that Timothy demonstrated the character trait of service and he demonstrated initiative when he cleaned up Mrs. Harding’s room after another student made a mess without being asked by the teacher. .

*We are on a regular schedule today.  COTS will be next Friday.

*For Homecoming Dress Up Monday it will be Twins Day.  Dress like twins with another student.  Tuesday will be spirit day.  Dress in Montevallo Spirit clothes.

*Kona Ice will be sold during the dance tonight.  The cost is anywhere from $3:00 to $5:00 depending in the size you get. Proceeds will support the MMS Chess Club.

*Tonight’s dance cost $5.00 to attend.  You will pay at the door.  Please remain in the classroom after the bell and listen for the announcements for your grade level to attend.  Your parents must pick you up right at 5pm.

*If you are not caught up on all of your schoolwork, you will not attend the Pep Rally on Tuesday.
