Baseball tryouts will be held after football season. Anyone wanting to try out must see Coach Shelton after school in the athletic hall to sign up. Deadline to sign up is TOMORROW.

Juniors and Seniors: A representative from Jacksonville State University will be on campus TODAY to meet with interested students. The meeting will be 3rd period in the library.

Attention Seniors: Do you need help getting started on your FAFSA? If so, MHS will be offering assistance on Oct. 22. Please sign up outside Ms. Allen’s office by TOMORROW and grab one of the handouts. Appointment cards will be given at a later date. Parents who wish to make an appointment should contact Ms. Allen.

School picture make-up day will be October 21.

Attention Seniors: The October edition of the Senior Newsletter is now available and it contains new scholarships! Check out Ms. Allen’s blog to download a copy or pick up one from the Guidance Office.

All approved* FCCLA member dues are due on October 28 to Mrs. Carter. No late payments accepted.

Senior Football Players, Senior Cheerleaders, Senior Band Members- Check your email for Senior Night Information.

Come out and celebrate Friday night. Senior events begin at 6:35. Parents and Seniors line up begins at 6:20

Fall tennis evaluations will be at the UM courts from 3:30-5 on Oct 28, 29, 30.

Students and Teachers: The make-up WorkKeys exam will be administered on Mon., Oct. 21 in the FACS dining room. We will call for students when it is time for testing to begin.

Attention Seniors: A representative from the Univ of Montevallo will be on campus Monday, Oct. 21 to meet with interested students in the library during 3rd period. Be sure to stop by the guidance office to sign up.

Attention Students: Shelton State Community College and Mercedes-Benz US International will host an information session at Thompson High School on Tues., Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. It will be held in their Performing Arts Center and will give students the opportunity to learn about the program options with Mercedes Benz and Shelton State.

Attention AP Students: If you paid your deposit to participate in AP exams in May, you must use your AP teacher’s join code

and officially register for the course by completing your college board account. Your exam cannot be ordered if you do not fol-
low this process.

Students are NOT allowed to receive outside food during the school day. Please do not bring food to the office or meet your student outside with food. Any questions, please refer to page 11 of the MHS Student Handbook.

Please arrive to school on time and remember that cell phones and electronic devices are strictly prohibited. Your test locations will be placed in the cafeteria by Tues. morning.

TESTING TOMORROW

Shelby County High Schools will be participating in an E-Day tomorrow, October 8th. All 10th & 12th grade students will be testing (PreACT & WorkKeys). The 9th & 11th graders will not attend school on campus; however, they will be required to complete an E-Day assignment. Please review the E-Day overview document for details.

For Character Day Dress up Participation, the Freshman earned 1st place with 4 points, Sophomores 2nd place with 3 points, Juniors 3rd place with 3 points, and Seniors came in last with one point.

A reminder the Powderpuff Game has been rescheduled to a later date to be announced.

Remember the FBLA Canned Good Drive and Coin Drop class competitions that are going on this week. Help your class win points by bringing cans and money!

Don’t forget to bring money on Thursday and Friday to purchase a ticket to watch the grade level volleyball and dodgeball tournaments. $2 Tickets to watch will be sold each day at lunchtime.
Tickets for the homecoming dance will be on sale during lunch every day through Friday.

ANY and ALL seniors, Mrs. Cabrera is holding tutoring Saturday, Oct. 5th for Applied Math WorkKeys. From 9 – 12. Sign up with YOUR math teacher.

Tickets for the homecoming dance will be on sale during lunch every day through Oct 4th. Students may also purchase tickets on-line through GoFan. The link to purchase is on the MHS Facebook page.

You will be receiving your school picture proofs today. School picture orders are due October 4.

Any Pep Club members who have paid for a t-shirt & not yet received one should see Coach D between classes. If you have money and want to purchase a shirt, see Coach between classes.

The First Powderpuff Practice –TODAY from 3-5 at the Stadium. Please pay your $5 to Coach Niven and bring your completed release forms by then. The Second Powderpuff Practice-THIS Sunday 9/29 from 2-4 at the Stadium. Powderpuff games will be played on Tuesday 10/1 starting at 6pm. $3 tickets to watch and concessions will be sold.

PROGRESS REPORTS GO HOME TODAY!!!

Congratulations to the Bulldogs for their victory over Jemison! Great job by Band, Cheer & Mascot!

Homecoming Court information packets and $10 registration fee are due TODAY.
Softball tryouts will be held on Saturday Sept. 21st from 9-12 in the morning.

Attention AP Students: deadline to pay the non-refundable $40 deposit per AP exam you plan to take is Oct 1. Exam payments should be paid to Ms. Allen.
